Serge Miquel - Warhol and Dalí - First Encounter 1965.

This is my theory on how Andy Warhol’s Oxidation Series, 1977-78, came to fruition.
However and to be fair, there is more information on works on Warhol’s “urination treatments” going back to 1961.
I personally believe, Dalí, coukdve been ver well aware of Warhols works.
Excerpt -
“Accompanying the exchange was a black-and-white reproduction of a rather large, unstretched canvas, titled Piss Paintings. Its dimensions were given as 46 by 80 inches and it was dated circa 1961. The interview might have passed unnoticed in the Warhol literature if it had not come to the attention of the art historian Rosalind Krauss, who cited Warhol’s comments and reproduced the painting in her book. -The Optical Unconscious (1993).”
