    Very nice video and explanation. I try and convince people that feeding once or twice a day in a stall is so bad for horses and not the way there were designed to eat. The visuals really help drive home how complex the horse digestive system is and how easy it is for something to go wrong when people do any number of things from bad hay, too rich, too dry,too much,lack of clean water, feeding packed tight hay so the horse does not chew well and swallows clumps. thanks again for nice explanation.

    Trickle feeding hay nets, use a small mesh which make the horse eat slowly for longer.

    @horseawareness I watch alot of yur videos and are very found of them and I learn alot! I'm 15 and now own my first horse! But where I board him doesn't offer a big open pasture for horses to graze. We are mainly an Arab show barn. Do yu have any suggestions on what I can do to keep his digestive track healthy besides grazing?

    @kuwaizair Correction, our digestive system has the ability to digest and enzymatically break down protein. However, it is NOT designed to deal with the amount of people eat in modern society. It is estimated that we should only be eating around 20g of meat a MONTH. I myself am a vegetarian (once again, I think that's what you're referencing to, not vegans? Vegans do not consume ANY animals products. Eg, milk and cheese) and felt the need to reply to your uneducated and narrow minded comment.

    I'm Silvana, from Brazil and I wonder if it's possible me to have one COVER for horse like that.
    Is there any possibility of buying it?
    Thanks for your attention.

    If we are herbivore than Humans would have more than 1 stomache and chew cud after going through the first stomache or at least a have big cecum pouch in the large intsestin like a horse.

  • @زنكي

    Rumenent animals, take the proteins from the bacteria in there stomch, where horses get there protien, plant protein is always not enough...

    @kawaiikitten5 oh yeah. but these people say humans cannot digest any meat at all. and we're buit "more like a cow than a wolf"

  • @kuwaizair
    @kuwaizair 13 лет назад

    @SPS148669 yeah I know. I try to tell them that.but they just go back to "if humans were meant to eat flesh, we would have big sharp fangs. claws and could eat it raw and not get sick. and we could kill it without wepons.
    I don't know. I've seen some whimpy looking flesh eaters that lack fang and claw. why do people need to make such claim? those folks say they are herbivores. but get offended if i ask if they can and do eat grass.

      I know you posted this comment 6 years ago so you might´ve had your question answered, but humans are not herbivores, we are frugivores just like gorillas and many other primates. Herbivores eat primarily grass, leaves and plants. Frugivores primarily eat fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and berries. I hope this helped!

    board him somewhere with 24/7 turn out. horses need to graze.

  • @kuwaizair
    @kuwaizair 13 лет назад

    I can show these to vegans who say we humans are more set up like a herbivore. so if we don't have the makeup like the horse, then we are not strict plant eaters right?
