Vince if you want moss to grow on the pot of your carnivorous plant repot into a terracotta pot that will hold the moisture and grow moss unlike the plastic pot 👍🧁. Gwen 🧓
Hi Gwen I grow Carnivorous plants have always been told never put in Terracotta pots because they loose moisture ( which I have found out myself) if the plant is in Special soil for Carnivorous plants it will start to grow its own moss
@asterixborden-koi6881 Hi, i completely agree that terracotta pots absorb moisture and will take it from compost but if the pot it kept in constant moisture such as a container of gravel filled with water the pot stays moist resembling a stone in wet woodland i could be wrong but i did use this method in the bathroom once please tell me if you still think this is wrong I'm always interested to learn different ways.
@ the group’s I’m in with on Facebook all recommended plastic pots ( unless if you have glazed Terracotta pots) but I’ve always stuck with plastic ones placed in a Saucer with rain water or a sealed plant pot but with a outlet hole about 3/4 up or just below the rim 1” so that it’s not bogged down with too much water, you can water with pond water depending how often it rains 😀 but not all Carnivorous plants can take pond water my Venue Fly Traps don’t like pond water And the special soil/s will grow their own moss this will start to grow on the surface of the soil
@@GwenGamble-u9v you don’t need to apologise a lot of people see these plants in the garden centres and they all state indoors plants and they are not they need to be outside with full sun some think they can just put them inside on the window cill in sunlight but this doesn’t help because the glass cuts out uv for the plants they don’t get enough sunlight
