      @DaytonaFrito * use color matching vinal siding j channel instead of black pixel strip. All you see is the tips of pixels poking out. Hiding wires and all.

      @@danielbuilds9595 lol thanks! I literally spent the whole year gathering materials, figuring things out, and learning all of the stuff required to make it work. Glad that I discovered pixels during last Christmas and it gave me a full year to prepare.

    great job, from one 1st timer to another. You have like double the pixel count than I do...(I didn't do a mega tree, just incase this didn't go well didn't want that sunk cost)

    • @DaytonaFrito
      @DaytonaFrito  25 дней назад

      I don’t blame you. The mega tree cost was a big concern for me as well. It was the first thing I bought and I kinda figured that would be the only thing I had for the first year. Then as the year went I couldn’t help myself and continued to go deeper down the rabbit hole lol.

    What glue did you use for the clips? I have a Hardie board fascia so trying to find alternative ways to clip my house outline.. attaching to soffit is a no go since it’s 2.5-3 inches depth from edge of fascia

    • @DaytonaFrito
      @DaytonaFrito  16 дней назад

      @josephfranco1967 I used these glue sticks: surebonder.com/products/735r510-full-size-10-high-strength-amber-color-hot-glue-stick-5-lb-box
      I show them at the end of the video around the the 53:30 mark. Only thing that sucks is you have to buy them in bulk. Hope that helps!

    I wonder if you could feed some of your wires through the PVC to hide them and have better wire/cable management. I love the idea of using PVC to mount your pixel strips to. That just changed my whole idea/design on how to mount them and keep them straight. Using the PVC clamps is going to make it so much easier to install and uninstall for off season. I found the gutter clamps where did you find the other clamps are you using to screw into the wall?

    • @DaytonaFrito
      @DaytonaFrito  28 дней назад

      @theslatonTeam I got the clamps for the PVC that I screwed into the wall from Holiday Coro. I’ve thought about trying to hide some of the wiring in the PVC. May try that once I get more controllers and won’t need to stretch my cables to the max for spacing props lol. Mounting pixels on frames of PVC is a game changer as far as install / remove go. Spend all that time upfront building them but huge time changer later on. Well worth it!

    So what is the difference in doing the Router -> Router to make the 2nd network, vs getting something that can deal with VLANS instead, and making your own network via VLAN for your light show? Curious, becuase 2025 will be my first year and I am starting to get things moving, the first thing I did was create a VLAN specifically for anything light related.

    • @DaytonaFrito
      @DaytonaFrito  4 дня назад

      @@concernedcitizen2031 I’ll be honest I’m not sure. Networking was the part of all of this that I wasn’t sure I’d be able to figure out. I didn’t try anything else other than isolating the networks. I have the light show network fed from the LAN port of my regular network onto the WAN port of the light show network. The other method you mention I’m not sure about. I tried to put a network switch on my regular network before going LAN to WAN for a separate network and that didn’t help me with network lag. This was my 2nd idea after the network switch and it worked so I stuck with it. Sorry can’t answer that one.

      @@DaytonaFrito So what I am talking about a VLAN, is a logical network segment inside a network. For example, in my house, I have 4 vlans currently. I have a VLAN for my computers (And devices like phones connected via wifi), I have a VLAN for IOT Devices (This vlan cannot touch or access anything outside of its network segment, just the deivces in the same vlan and the internet) , I have a VLAN for my TV's and I have a Vlan for my servers.

    i just did my first year as well, but living in brazil, is hard to get the stuff. I bought a lot of things from wiredwatts, in my vacation trip to Orlando.
    I did a 2k pixels this year (1 megatree 180 degrees with 4 meters heigh 100 px per string 1,5 inch spacing (custom from holidaycoro) with 14 strings = 1400 pixels, 2 candy canes, 1 singing tree. And used some wled in my main stair. One controller only, the kulp32.
    I'm thinking how to grow next year, and i will need another controller e maybe 2 receivers. But my main question now is how do you plan to power inject? Using default 3 core xconnect or 2core? using power box (2 PSU or +) or only power inject from the same PSU? So that you dont have to separate de V+.

    • @DaytonaFrito
      @DaytonaFrito  23 дня назад +1

      I think I’m going to buy another falcon controller to control the garage side of the house then add a large matrix across the 16x7 garage door along with more props. Haven’t really thought in too much detail about power injection yet. However, if I do power inject I plan to do it from the same power supply to simplify it and avoid any crossover voltage mishaps. I’ll probably only do any power injection using remote receivers primarily on high density props that I hope to add eventually. I don’t plan on running the show any brighter than 20% too so that helps me not need to rely on power injection. The remote receiver I have now I planned on using the 3 wire xconnect pigtails on a power distribution board with the data line not connected. I didn’t think about how much more difficult it would be to do this hobby living elsewhere! Hope you’re able to find what you need to grow your show! Sounds like you’re killing it though!

      @PapaiNerdBR 23 дня назад

      @DaytonaFrito thank you, love the ideia of use receivers with power inject in dense pixel area from the same psu.
      I have to buy everything from there, brazil taxes 100% of anything i buy there. So its like double the price. Lol brazil sucks
