      Hi Netafim reps, Our company is planning to apply mechanization for tobacco cultivation. I found out, this SDI can reduce the number of workers significantly. May I know, whether it is possible to use for tobacco cultivation?

      That hoses were instaled in high precise position. One thing the tiller needs to do is just to follow the lines so that that hoses wouldn't be touched.

    I've always wanted to create a hydro system outdoors with feed lines underground but I run into two problems. Putting your emitters underground makes it impossible to check the flow and wont the roots start to clog the emitters over time as well?

    • @Paelorian
      @Paelorian 3 года назад +2

      Yes, but since it probably won't all happen at once couldn't you just fix those problems as they occur? From the surface, while it may not immediately be visible if one area is particularly dry, at the very least you'll be able to tell if some of the plants aren't receiving adequate water and know to dig up and fix the irrigation they rely on. You may lose some plants this way, and have others damaged or stunted, but as long as this doesn't happen to a significant portion of each crop every year then it should be manageable, at least for some.

    • @Netafim
      @Netafim  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Arif, Deep buried dripperlines in permanent SDI are buried 20-40cm, allowing you ploughing
      to this depth, the burying depth depends on your soil type, and other consideration , like crop type etc.

      The pipes are installed below the tillage zone so that all future operations will not affect them. Also future operations are guided, so that heavy machinery like tractors for example will not compact the area where pipes are installed

    But dont the pipes get uprooted by the plough the next year? And if the machinery is riding on the wet ground above the pipes, dont the pipes shift inside and break? Wont the weight of the machinery clog the pipes forever? How long does this setup last in places where temperatures remain 43deg Celsius plus (and crazy sunlight)?

      The questions you ask are very interesting and relevant for SDI, however the answer to them depends on several other factors (e.g. temperature, crop, soil quality, water quality, etc.), and if you could find the time to provide some additional information, we will be happy to quickly reply and provide the answers you need.
      What is the specific geographical area you interested in?
      What is the main crop your are interested in receiving information about? Do you have any additional crops you are interested in?
      How can we contact you (e-mail address and telephone number) and provide you the information you asked for?

      Hi chandrakant,
      Thanks for your interest in Netafim. Here are some answers to your questions:
      1. How much deep the pipes are to be layd
      20- 40cm depend on your soil type, and land preparation you plan to establish
      2. After taking off corp what is the process to use multi year use
      Either crop rotation, however, land preparation is possible when deep buried dripperlines
      3. If we not cultivate the land how could we use it as better firtil land
      You can plough the land up till the depth of the buried dripperlines
      4. What is the cost per accer
