I agree with a previous commentor: much like Helen Mirren, Glenn Close, and Meryl, she IS able to act without speaking. She can convey emotions through her eyes and minute changes in facial expression...sublime. That's one thing I love most about her acting...and Helen's.

I've only been watching Castle for a few months now (catching up on the back-seasons now) and Stana Katic is beautiful, but something about the shape of her face always made me wonder if she'd had a nose job. I just ran across this and a couple other old videos of her by total accident, and WOW was I right. My mind is blown by how different she looks. It also depresses me to know that she never would have gotten a leading role like Kate Beckett if she hadn't gotten this nose job. Sad.
Other than the obvious talent, Stana got the part over the other girls auditioning ultimately because of the instantaneous chemistry between her and Nathan. Just stating that in the first episode or the first 1/2 of season 1 of Castle, Stana wasn't exactly the prettiest actress out there. (I honestly didn't like the hair cut on her lol, but she looks good in some short hairstyles) Some people forget that celebrities aren't goddesses (and when i mean that I mean they were all just regular people)
The operation of nose makes her even more beautiful one and attractive one. She is an extraordinary actress and also it is beautiful. That more can be asked... STANA the Ist , I LOVE YOU

but people if you look on her photos from her youth for example after she graduated the high school when she is cutting a cake you can see that her nose is just like it is now I dont know how come here she looks like this maybe she had some accident?
Guys if you watch her in Alias in 2004 she has the same nose as she does now (in 2012) This clip was from 2005, proof that she did NOT have a nose job, and that this is make up. Some people ARE flawless lol :)

You might be right, she is a very talented actress and is perfect in Castle. She might have gotten the role without the surgery. Yet, acting is not always about talent, looks play a large part in casting. To be a leading lady you have to be physically perfect!!

True that! I don't know anything about make-up and putting them on but my sister always uses my face as her canvas and it's amazing how she transforms my face especially my nose.and btw, i've compared this clip with other present clips of Stana and yep, i think it's just make-up! :)
dummys. you guys do realize that your only proof of a nose job is ONE clip in ONE show right?? Here's the thing: it's called a makeup dept and they do really convincing work. Example A: the nose. Ever wonder how they make hobbits look like they do, or some other mystical character? It wasn't a nose job, it was just a prosthetic to make her look more the part. Still though, it's really nice that people are willing to focus on her acting when they think she's had a nose job. She is amazing

Why does Stana always have to play a Russian I mean she kind of played one on Castle and than again she did it in her movie and again she played a Russian vampire .The only time she did not play a Russian was in CSI Miami .
