Thanks for the video series Papa Don! I really appreciate it. My brother picked up one of these cheap earlier in the year and it's got a few problems, but I'm looking forward to tackling them. Please keep us posted....Also reinforcing what another commenter said, You are an amazingly patient person. The world could use more of your patience.
Hey mate I have a husqvarna wr125/144 but I keep snapping flywheel keys only just got the bike found everything wrong first 125 2t to work on as such the stator bolts were rapped so finally have them sorted and holding tight ( was working loose and obviously throwing timing ) but I understand I am just guessing timing there’s so many marks on the stator plate hard to say but I’ve line it up bolted it in and made my own marks to use as a reference to see if it is still vibrating loose, apparently not still snapping woodruffs, it starts with a new one runs for a couple seconds and dies again the last few the flywheel has 100% been tight stator tight too? If you have any ideas i road the bike before this started happening have the vids on my channel was very boggy and backfired a lot and obviously I understand why I will try and get her to tdc with plug removed screw driver in the top, I’ll find roughly how far away from tdc the timing needs to be set to but I still don’t know where the stator plate should sit, I believe it should run regardless of the amount of adjustment angle but obviously the quality of it running will differ but why will it continue to snap keys in starting to suspect the flywheels up the wall but doesn’t look bad obviously can’t find a replacement being it’s a weighted flywheel but in fairness they also make a mx version of my wr being a husky cr this is pushing some impressive bhp numbers mines tiny lol so I’m thinking I might spend huge money sourcing and using the full cr ignition setup and top end to unleash everything that she has read so much on old closed forums l
Hey Joe, I didn't see your question until now. You can google Kawasaki 750 STS flywheel puller and there will be a number of options to purchase. I think I bought mine from SBT.
Ha! Well, until the oil lines are back on there is always a chance for a leak and so I wait until everything is completed before cleaning. That way I only have to clean once.

Thank you for the encouragement, really appreciate it.
noticed mine was sheared as well. i may have done the same by not torquing to spec. (dont lose the bendix washer to the murky oil ;D )
5:52 this gave me horrible anxiety as I worried about him leaving that chunk of metal in the stator housing.
Ha! Glad I had the gopro down there to catch where it landed.

Sorry for such a late reply. If you've tightened the flywheel down according to spec then I have no idea what is causing it to snap the key.
something is bound up, that is one of thereasons for a soft key
What size of puller does the flywheel take?
18 mmm

I don't know how you work with that puddle of oily water down there, I can't work till I clean all that crap out.

Run that key on a flat stone. It’s not a space ship.
