      I must tell players to be careful about technique obsession. Focus on fundamentals and let your body find it's own style. People want to control things too much.

    How this new Gravitu MP compared to Clash100v2 ? Weight is same, both have low RA rate. Three main difference s: beam width, 16x19vs16x20 strings and balance. I play with Clash100v2 strung with Volkl Cyclone 24/23kg and added 3g weight devided bu 1,5g on 10 and 2 o’clock. Plays ok, but want more control and stability, not loosing comfort that Clash provides 🙂

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад

      The Gravity is less powerful, less soft, better access to top spin, more head heavy. You won't have the same comfort. For me the Wilson Shift is somehow close to the Clash in terms of comfort, with a more solid feeling.

    Jean Pierre, Where are you now with your racquet journey? Is it still the Gravity MP? Would you say that the Gravity is better for flat shots than the Shift 300… especially with down the line backhands?

    Fabulous hitting Jean Pierre....this is exactly what I needed to see for this racquet....any issues with the arm ?....I've never played with an 18/20...always 16/19 which sort of suits my game...you seem to have taken to it like a duck to water as we say.Definately going to check one out.Merci beaucoup.

      Well, after the session, I felt my shoulder but I think it's normal muscle soreness. I really tried to have explosive swings. No wrist pain, something I pay attention to with the balance a bit towards the head and it's a problem I had in the past. I'd need to play more but I must send the racquet back soon. Maybe I'll play one last session. Up to now, I'd say I'm ok and I hesitate switching to this racquet.

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 ...thanks for the heads up...I've just come off the court....a bit of hitting,a singles and a couple of doubles....nothing special just club tennis but still competitive....still using a Pure Strike old version red/black(not sure what gen)..it's a great racquet for singles but not so much doubles, as for me it needs a full swing to be most effective..... I'm intrigued by this auxetic gravity after seeing you hit so I need to demo one.

      Gravity MP kinda demanding but maybe not that far from your old Pure Strike, not sure. I like it but even after 3 sessions, I'd need to play a bit more to see if just a bit tired I still get enough power.

    What rackets do you recommend for a recreational player who’s starting out tennis for the first time? I was thinking ezone 100 or either prince phantom 100x 290g. I’m also 5’8 155 lbs at 15 years old and I’m looking for a fair racket.

    • @octaviannitra1845
      @octaviannitra1845 Год назад +2

      I dont think you’ll get an answer here because it depends on multiple unknown factors. However maybe my experience helps a bit. I started taking tennis lessons 4,5 years ago and first used a cheaper babolat pulsion, then a Wilson clash, head gravity mp and tour, yonex vcore, head extreme tour and babolat pure aero. I use most often the gravity and next the extreme. I like the sound and feel of head racquets.
      If I would start out again I would go directly to gravity mp or maybe gravity mp light. Wilson is also very good and easy to swing but I got terrible elbow pain from it. If in doubt pick a smaller grip size.
      But it depends a lot on you physic and power.

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад

      You could see Head Speed Team, Wilson Burn 100, Wilson Ultra 100, Yonex Ezone 100L for instance. Go for the 300 g versions of these if you tried that weight and feel fine. 285 g is safer without testing.

    You're a better tennis player than me and your forehand is better too. However, if I may make a suggestion that you could try, it would be the following: 1. Prepare earlier. You often wait for the ball to bounce on your side and then your shot gets a little frantic. 2. Gives your forehand swing a little more of a C shape. You often go back and forth almost in one line. Or just play as you do, because your forehand is quite good 😅

    • @team-tennisenglish1514
      @team-tennisenglish1514  Год назад +2

      As I said I don't want to think about technique and swing form. Except if I want to play badly 😀 Besides that I understand your advices and you guess as a tennis coach playing for 40 years I might have thought about that. If I do that it just does not help me have good feelings. Now my body does what he wants and the result in not that bad for that session.

      @@team-tennisenglish1514 I'm in the hospital right now and on medication, that's why I wrote such nonsense ;-) I've been working with a trainer on my forehand for years trying to get rid of bad muscle memories, but the one-handed backhand will always be my better shot. I never understood why most people have a better forehand, the backhand is so much easier :-)

      @@DanTheMan1610 Man it's not nonsense. In fact somehow I agree with what you say. Maybe it wou😀ld be better if I prepare sooner but if I think about that I'm gonna break my rythm so now I let my body do the job and I'll see. It deserves a try. I wish you to be in a good shape soon and to be back on a tennis court.
