I think Tobi has become a pretty awesome caster over the last months (considering in-game knowledge) and he keeps improving ! still awesome if he gets a good co-caster (bulba/synd/ppy etc.) with him, so the game is even more enjoyable :) ! keep up the good work
I will try to explain: Imagine a symetric map. On the map you have 3 lanes: Top (90°), Middle, and Bottom (90°). On this lanes there are the so called towers. They are stationary defense. The aim is to destroy the towers and then destroy the Ancient. Creeps will help you. They spawn in your base. The most important thing: Every team has to choose 5 "heros" (like in a role play game). Every hero has its own abilities and is unique. The right combination is very important! :) Dota is just awesome!
You seem to forget, many of these tournaments last 2 months, not just a weekend or a week even. Additionally you have to WIN to get the $1500 (or whatever first place is). Thus the $7.50/hr estimate was for a winner that wins every tournament. If you lose (as in don't win first) that number goes down.
It's more enjoyable for most - that's why. The general consensus if that if you are a casual gamer (like me), then go LoL. The issue is that people think one has to be "better" then the other, but it's just all about preference. Anyone who flips out and disagrees is probably just a troll. I'm checking out DOTA 2 even though I'm a pretty die-hard LOL fan because I think it has lots of great characteristics, such as item diversity.
well not sure if you are referring to the meta they are doing, but Meta is, I am not sure if it is short or the actual term for it but, it is the word to describe what type of hero/style of build/style of game play is in the current idea of everybody at that moment
Yes. It is not that much money. But that not how they make money. Usually teams like navi will get money from sponsors. Let say they play at this tourney. And the sponsor said if u win first place we give u a bonus 5000. Second 2000 and third 1000. So it all depends. We don't know what type of money try make outside the tourney.
I feel like that's a dangerous assumption. Unless you actually know the numbers, you cannot make a claim like that. Additionally, as said one post prior to yours, the sponsors don't matter as that's not part of the context of the comment. The remark made by Tobi was about the tournament winnings themselves, not overall profits for professional players. Thus my remark was directly to that remark, not all professional players and their careers.
I agree with that and understand, but that's taking it out of the context of the original remark. The point of my comment was to tobi's remark that "$1,500" is a decent chunk of cash, when it in fact is quite low and almost belittling. It goes to Virak's comment during one of his Navi posts that these tournaments will continue to be shit as long as players and commentators continue to cater to them. Until the industry says "nope", it'll continue to be shit (outside of TI)
there were no "mistakes" there, just risks, heros like ta dont sit back and farm they dive u past your fountain, fuck that snortfest vs rox.kiss earlier, i hope we get more of these heros that look too pick fights that i fell i haven't seen in ages
No offense, but when you say $1,500 is a "decent chunk of cash" it's really doing a disservice to the game. That's if you win, split 5 ways, is $300 a person. Given the amount of time required to get to the level of play needed to win a tournament of this level and it's basically complete shit money. If we assume a team like Na'Vi attributes 40 hours, practice and time actually in the tournament, that's $300/40 = $7.5/hr per person, and that's not including overhead costs.

This game is sooooo Hype........wooooooo.......Im almost at the edge of my seat...

A lesson from Kuro's Rubik: if there is a Magnus in opposite team and you play Rubik, just aim your spell steal on Magnus and you're ok.
Great co-casting, great game. More Bulba pls
that "NOOOO" at the beginning is hilarious XD
his best co-caster has to be syn...love them together
Tobi is the best caster for me..i'd suffer if i watched a game without him as the caster. XD

epic play from envy at 21:30
=P I thought about buying that same Graphics card, but it was too expensive... 6770 was the pick, also from XFX, nice crossfire =)
You seem to forget, there are many concurrent tourneys.

Does anyone know why these casters can write on the map but nobody else can? Is it an adding?
