    Ever been round the back of the Maggets in the wet?
    I went in there exhausted, southbound with an empty triple, pre-GFC before the hard was extended for a quiet night intending to stack on the ramp in the morning. Then it pissed down all night & when I woke up I knew I was there to stay.
    Great roadhouse btw, really top layout, & those 2 quick bays out front are just so convenient.

    • @Bigrigsaustralia
      @Bigrigsaustralia  6 месяцев назад

      @returnofthenative I haven't seen it in the wet like that. There's heaps of room there no matter the size of your rig. That's why most of the Oversize Rigs stop there.

      @returnofthenative 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@Bigrigsaustralia Yes, I know, that's why I said terrific layout, by far the best I've seen, but my comment about the back in the wet dates back to pre-GFC, when there was just that small dirt hardpack between the roadhouse, & the fuel depot. Beside & behind the depot it was all softish dirt, & just slush in the wet. It wasn't a problem in the earlies, but with the boom, construction material traffic increased dramatically, just as everywhere else. You should have seen Wubin hookup back then. Tiny, dirt, & pitch black. I used the ramp at Magnet to stack my trailers a lot back then. It was mostly pretty good. So was the ramp at Fortesque River, if you were on the coast. Otherwise they were pretty much shockers.

      @@returnofthenative Would have been interesting to see it back then.

    Just spent 6 days in a caravan park down the road from this road house the trucks go 24/7 just like the video shows have found that the trucks go about 90 klms per hour if you keep your speed the same you don't catch up to the trucks and they don't catch up to you we tow a caravan and have the greatest respect for the drivers as they have very stressful job day and night

    • @Bigrigsaustralia
      @Bigrigsaustralia  7 месяцев назад

      I have my UHF radio on set to Channel 40 so when I need to pass I can talk to the driver and we can work out a safe way to make it happen. I tow a van too for work and it can be a challenge, i cant imaging pulling three to four trailers with 120ton on the back.

    • @Bigrigsaustralia

      Thank you for the feedback. With the drone it's impossible to capture the roar of these machines and my vehicle mounted camera is waterproof which also limits the sound transfer. However I agree with you and when I'm static (not mobile and not using a drone) I'll switch to a new camera which should bring the sound of these monsters to you in all thier glory. Stay tuned.

    Some incorrectly restrained loads I see. Straps should never be used on some of these loads when chains are required.
