My husband is very abusive. He abused me and my child in every sense of the term. I had been praying, trying to receive an answer from God about what to do about the abuse. God had called me to remove myself from the abuse, not the marriage, but the abuse. I ended up having to get a restraining order against him and had to sit in a court room in front of him and a judge, and admit the abuse he was putting upon my life. I was so afraid, and while I sat there, shaking, God reminded me of these lyrics: “I will not be shaken.” Those words God reminded me, said that through God, I cannot be shaken. I had peace and God has supplied my son and I with safety. ❤️

We know from Rev 11 the two witnesses are called lampstands. John tells us in earlier chapters lampstands symbolize churches.
So the 2 witnesses are 2 churches.
Also Rev 11 calls them olive trees.

The two witnesses “And I will give my two witnesses to prophesy for twelve hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. These witnesses are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands that stand before the God of the earth… these two prophets had tormented the inhabitants of the earth. " Rev. 11: 3, 4, 10.
The Bible again gives several names to identify the same thing. For the prophetic time of the "1260 days" there were three different names. Here are four different names for the "two witnesses."
The book of Zechariah even provides us with a fifth name for these "two olive trees", saying that "These are the two anointed ones who stand before the Lord of all the earth." Zechariah 4: 3, 14.
The “two witnesses” who prophesy, that is to say, preach the biblical prophecies during the 1260 years of papal sovereignty in Europe, “stand before the God of the earth”! Take note that they are not standing before the God of heaven! They are facing the devil who is identified as "the god of this world." 2 Corinthians 4: 4. The fact of being in front of the enemy means that they are against him. Just as Nimrod, the founder of the kingdom of Babylon and of the tower of Babel, stood before the true God, the Creator of heaven and earth. Gen. 10: 9. But as we saw in topic xxx, the fact of being before God meant being against him, facing him.
In this way the two witnesses confront the devil and his systems on this earth, being against him. These two witnesses have the courage to stand tall without submitting to the deceptions and threats of the earthly and Babylonian systems that the devil has established and controls in this world. The devil wants all human beings to bow at his feet and worships him, accepting his sovereignty and his prophetic interpretations and his pagan and contrary teachings to those of God. To Jesus Christ, he offered even kingdoms and earthly glory to submit to. But Jesus stood by rejecting and resisting! Mat. 4: 8-10. Just like Daniel's three friends stood in front of the golden statue of Babylon. Dan. 3:12. To stand is to resist the test and the temptation, to resist even in the face of the threat of death and to win! Therefore, only the victorious will one day stand before the Creator God of heaven and earth, on the sea of glass. Rev. 6:17; 15: 2.
A witness testifies. Written testimony is even stronger than oral testimony! They are the Sacred Scriptures as a whole (the Old Testament and the New Testament) that bear witness to Jesus Christ, being his faithful and true witness.
Search the scriptures; because it seems to you that in them you have eternal life; and they are the ones who bear witness to me. " John 5:39.
It is the gospel of the kingdom contained in the Word of God that must be preached for a witness to all the nations of the earth before the end comes.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world, for a witness to all nations; And then the end will come." Mat. 12:14 pm.
The "two witnesses" are not limited to the written Word of God, but are also the ones who preach it! The "two witnesses" are the messengers of the truth and of the prophecies contained in the Holy Scriptures.
A witness is someone who testifies to something. The Greek word in the New Testament related to "witness" is "martyred" which is translated as "martyr." In this way “the two witnesses” refer to those who proclaimed the Word of God during the 1260 years through their word, their life, and their death, bearing witness to their faith in God and in His Word!
About the martyrs he says:
"And they have overcome [the devil] through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and they despised their lives to the death." Rev. 12:11.
In this sense, the verse that we have studied at the end of chapter 10 of Revelation also applies:
"You must prophesy again over many peoples, nations, languages, and kings." Rev. 10:11.
Those who bear witness to the Word of God, its truth, its prophecies, and its commandments are those who "prophesy", that is, they preach and teach the prophecies of the Holy Scriptures to peoples, nations, languages , and kings.
"… You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1: 8.
As we saw before, the “two witnesses” are dressed in sackcloth, because they proclaim the truth and call for repentance and conversion to God. The experience of Saint Paul in this regard was this:
"... but I announced first to those who are in Damascus, and Jerusalem, and throughout the land of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance." Acts 26:20.
