I always said everything Noel did was carefully crafted. He always said his lyrics were nonsensical but I never believed him. They were too good and too universal for him to not have given them much thought. I think it’s all part of his carefully crafted legend.

I always feel like his insecurity makes him afraid of being seen through therefore all the nonsense talking. But he wants to be understood so he hides all the true words in those songs.

That's an interesting idea. It makes sense. Being told your shite most of your life. You just want to seem cool. It's a shame really as I would like him to be more open. But I don't think that will happen sadly @@GingerGinger-g5f

I think when songwriters say they wrote a song in 20mins. They’re talking about chords, melodies and rhythms. I think Lyrics are always a refining process that goes on for days or weeks

    - This list of songs is the oldest in the notebook (along with Page B).
    - Much like in Noel's 1993 notebook Noel has annotated this song list with marks such as asterisks and question marks. I believe that the asterisks likely mark the stronger material being considered by Noel and question marks highlight the songs Noel is unsure about.
    - The only unreleased songs to recieve asterisks are 'Callin' All' and 'Feeling Like I Think...'.
    - 'Feel No Shame' is unquestionably 'Hey Now!'. 'Raspberry Beret' is likely 'New Stones/Beret' a track mentioned in Noel's 1993 notebook which was once slated for track 2 on the band's 2nd album. 'Live 4 Happy Mondays' is almost certainly 'The Mirror & The Razorblade' another song mentioned in Noel's 1993 notebook. This song evolved from a track called 'Blue' and eventually became 'Morning Glory'. 'Unfinished' could be any song but 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday' is the most likely.
    - 'Callin' All', 'Lock All the Doors' and 'Being a Blue' are all (officially) unreleased songs which also feature in Noel's 1993 notebook and have been carried over. 'Being a Blue' evolved into 'Acquiesce', the verses to 'Lock All the Doors' were reused in 'My Sister Lover' and the chorus was reused in the NGHFB's track of the same name.
    - 'Headshrinker' is notably absent from this list. Perhaps Noel didn't think it fitted stylistally.

      10 Whatever
      - Written at a similar time to 'Page A' as ascribed to the fact that it contains the same songs.
      - It is unclear if the first list is simply a list of songs under consideration for the band's next album or a proper orchestrated tracklist like the unfinished second list.
      - 'She's Electric' is notably absent despite featuring in earlier and future tracklists and making the final cut for the album.
      - 'Whatever' is earmarked as the final track on the band's next album. The track is eventually released as a stand alone single on 18 Dec 1994.
      - Despite seeing no release subsequent 'On + On' is deemed strong enough by Noel to be slated for the band's second album.
      - Future singles 'Stand By Me', 'All Around the World' and (Japanese Single) 'Don't Go Away' don't appear to be in consideration at this moment in time. In Noel's 1993 notebook 'All Around the World' was slated as the final track to the band's second album but having missed out on 'Definitely Maybe' it appears 'Whatever' has taken its place.

      Need A Little Break
      Callin All
      Mr Monday
      Yellow
      Nature's Son
      Reputation
      - This list of songs was written after 'Page A' and 'Page B' had been written. 'Talk Tonight' was written between 29th Sep - 8th Oct 1994 so it's inclusion means it was written after this period of time.
      - 'Need A Little Break' is unquestionably 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday'. It is very likely that 'Landslide' is an early title for 'Champagne Supernova'. It is tempting to suggest that 'Young' is future b-side 'Stay Young' but Noel has elsewhere hinted it was written post (WTS)MG?, so who knows?
      - It has been said that Noel met Meg Matthews on the 10th/11th Nov 1994. If the story about Noel only having the music and melody to 'Champagne Supernova' but no words until the day both him and Meg were watching a documentary on champagne making whilst listening to the Pixies' 'Bossanova' is true then perhaps this list was written after that date. That said it feels like 'Champagne Supernova' would be the obvious title to name the song so perhaps only that phrase came from that story.
      - Despite being recorded at the same time as 'Talk Tonight' both '(It's Good) To Be Free' and 'Half the World Away' were excluded from this list. Was this because they were earmarked as B-Sides and not under consideration for the next Oasis album? 'All Around The World', 'Stand By Me', 'Don't Go Away', 'Feeling Like I Think...', 'Starchild', 'Datura Dream Rebound', 'Being A Blue', 'Lock All The Doors', 'Raspberry Beret' and 'Live 4 Happy Mondays' (AKA 'The Mirror & the Razorblade') all appear to have fallen out of favor. 'Headshrinker' is still nowhere to be seen.
      - If this is a list of songs being considered by Noel for the band's second album does 'Whatever's' inclusion mean the song wasn't yet considered to be slated as simply a stand alone single?

      10 Champagne Supernova
      Whatever
      Some Might Say
      Freedom
      Going Nowhere
      Sports Car
      - This tracklist is the least old of all the lists of songs and tracklist written. 'Talk Tonight' was written between 29th Sep - 8th Oct 1994 so it's inclusion means it was written after this period of time. 'Champagne Supernova' is definitively named for the first time and '(What's the Story) Morning Glory?' has finally made an appearance in it's completed form.
      - 'Hey Now!' (AKA 'Feel No Shame') is notably absent despite featuring in earlier tracklists and making the final cut for the album.
      - The list below is almost certainly the tracklist to a future single with 'Some Might Say' being the a-side and the other 3 tracks being the b-sides. 'Sports Car' is likely another early title for 'Bonehead's Bank Holiday'. 'Freedom' is unlikely to be '(It's Good) To Be Free'. It has been said that Liam has referred to '(It's Good) To Be Free' as 'Live By the Sea' before it's release and there is a page in Noel's notebook containing both 'Freedom' and 'Live By the Sea' meaning they cannot be the same song.
      - 'Whatever' does not receive a track number but has still been tagged onto the end of the tracklist. Is this because Noel is considering it as a bonus track or something similar?

Also, if you sing the lyrics in the chorus to the melody of DONT GO AWAY they almost fit. Rhyming wise, Each Chorus in Dont go away is an A,A,A, B,B,B ,A. Format. These lyrics are also very similar. The last word on each line rhyme. BUT, with the line ''COZ you and your THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS'''It could also be an early SUNDAY MORNING CALL draft. What d'ya think?

I never believed the “I wrote that in 5 minutes” even when I was a kid and oasis became huge. Noel had a formula. Refining songs until they were exactly as he wanted. 90% 😂 so meticulous. He always had a back pocket of material for any situation.

The Going Nowhere difference in the words we already know of - it's in the demo version most of us have heard on RUclips - the words in the notes is also missing the post second chorus section of the final version; likewise in the demo.
I think the demo was on an expanded version of Be Here Now? It's not on Spotify.

The end of 'over' by the LA's repeats the lyrics 'on n' on' in an interesting chords sequence, maybe like cigarettes and alcohol or Columbia Noel used this chords sequence as scaffolding for a new song with different lyrics , still just a theory .

Extra line in Chanpagne Supernova middle 'air that we breathe' has early tone of Acquiesce and the unreleased lyric 'We know what we are' repeating would be early sign of Stay Young......I think most these songs probably evolved into Be Here Now album songs at least literally. One of those unreleased ones has 'sister' used a couple times and My Sister Lover is in the song line-ups so I would guess that got rewritten into Sister Lover and probably rewritten in a different notebook? Songs with a X were obviously rewritten into other songs and the lyrics were left there because he wanted to re use lyrics eventually. I can't seem to figure out what tunes the lyrics might have been for other than Star Child being Angel Child. If he had the refrain in his head already of how he was doing the repeating 'star/angel child parts he probably felt he didn't need to write it all out yet.

(I think it was a Korean Sheraton) This particulary guitar you're talking it's not bonehead's main axe because he still uses his tobacco sunburst riviera without any sign of a bigsby (Holes), and Noel's riviera is wine red.
So they were probably getting a few of this kind guitars back in the day. I hope James is shedding some light on that in a future video!

Star child = Heart of a Star... early oasis is all about Noel´s desire to make it, and that´s what makes that early content very strong, cause you can see a working class man struggling to make it, rock n´roll star is the base of that, after that one the rest is about Noel´s working class personal experiences, digsy´s diner is about the nonsense of the normal working class life, "digsy said he had lasagna for his tea" some nutty shit isn´t it?., Oasis kinda ended when they stopped being working class, Noel still had some bits here and there of his personal experiences in his later works but he clearly wanted something more commericial and he said it many times, for a working class man pop is a job after all and he got a family to support and he don´t want to be poor again, so that is that, i still think definitely maybe and the b-sides are their best work

When Noel talks about how good songs always came quick or that he wrote some songs in 10-20 minutes, he doesn't include refining the lyrics. because lyrics are non-essential parts of his songs. Like Teotihuacan, or Fking in the Bushes. These songs with unheard titles could very well be like them.

In an interview, Noel mentioned that he refrained from playing barre chords because it would look awkward, so he agreed with Bonehead that Bonehead would handle those chords. Given how much of the story has been debunked, I presume that at the time, he probably didn't know how to play such chords on the guitar, at least while standing…
