My hair was harder to get into one ponytail when it was around your length as well and I used to always just do my hair in 2 separate buns. Later I learned the reason why it was so hard to do one ponytail was because my hair was thickening. My hair is a little past shoulder length now and it has gotten a lot easier to do one ponytail. And high puffs has been my go to on lazy days now that I don’t feel like doing my hair.
The whole process is facinating to watch from adorable bonnet to the very end. It's the style that puts me in an instant trance in public or at the hospital (whether I'm wanting that or not, lol), but it would be the transformation back to the all natural in the bonnet thing once you got home again that would totally melt my heart. I just used the crochet method to attach the hair to the ponytail holder. Basically folding the hair in half and then pulling the ends of the hair around the elastic and through the loop/fold and then pulling tight so that the hair is attached to the elastic the same way it would be attached to a braid.

Then i do i pig chop and start allover again
I put my hair in a ponytail while I’m in the shower during detangling. U won’t have to use a lot of product. And then of course I do the braidless crotchet method cause it last longer. But it’s also reusable
