But now that I look back Ippei’s translation was way too casual and be summarized and it didn’t show Shohei’s personality. That would be one of the reasons a lot of Americans doubted Shohei, cuz we can see his innocent and faithful personality by his talking way when he speaks Japanese. I don’t think he needs to change his everyday routine for baseball to learn English, so I wish his wife Mamiko learn English to help him now.

How does $16M cover $40M in losses? What 'bookie' covers $24M owed? How are the transactions of $300M in 26 months not flagged by the bank? How do accountants not ask anything about this crazy amount of inflows and outflows when filing tax returns? Why does a guy accused of this crime get sent to rehab (lol)? Where does a guy that stole $16M and owes $24M, get money for bail and rehab? How did the story change and then go away until the court appearance? Just sayin'.

Ohtani gave his mommy his 2 million salary in Japan who gave him a 1000 a month allowance which he never spent the full amount
It’s an IRS investigation/criminal complaint you can find a link in the ESPN website
And If your conspiracy theory was true….
Ohtani was the most disciplined addicted gambler ever
Never once contacting the 3 bookies from his own phone
Not even going on bookie websites for a look see on his own phone
Not even to check odds or even see what games are up
9600 text messages on his phone with Mizuhara over a 4 year period
Never once talking about the 19000 bets he made through Mizuhara over a 26 month period

As a Japanese person, I thought his gambling problem was typical of Japanese people. There are many places in Japan where you can legally gamble. And there are places where it's illegal. Many Japanese people have problems with gambling addiction. Some people with severe symptoms of gambling addiction end up in psychiatric hospitals. Gambling addiction cannot be solved by the individual's will alone. I think it is important to seek support from those around you and consult with experts.

This is ONE of his many accounts which was opened in spring training in his first year arriving in US 2018, to register for salary account with the Angels.
Since opening, Shohei never used the account nor withdrew money from it as he subsequently was made several other accounts with assistance of the Agency, that he was using actively.
Basically, this first account was just accumulating salary deposits monthly from the Angels, bonuses and few off field work, but was basically “dormant” for Shohei as an active account.
So not having notifications also dosent seem strange as he simply just had that account parked there
