okay. so now I finally get it. my son joined the fandom this year. ive watched tons of youtube videos. but this, this one is amazing. it shows furries are just average every day people under the suits. they are not all eccentric or anything. and the experience seems incredible from this video. thanks.

I swear, furries are freakin' infectiously inspiring... a few weeks ago, I started researching this whole subculture out of curiosity , and now here I am. Making my first fursona (who is a sergal btw :3!). Seriously, if your a person who somehow found this video out of curiosity or through a cringe compilation and knows nothing more about furries except for the terrible way the media makes them look, do yourself a favor and atleast try to find out a bit more about them. You'll be surprised how many lies and exaggerations have been told about them. Anyway, from my understanding of the furry community as a whole, it's a place that encourages having fun and being yourself no matter what others may say, even if being yourself is being a cat, a dog, a bird, a dragon, or whatever else you feel like being. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it... I dunno. It means something different to everyone, I guess. I was always one who loved drawing monsters, creatures, dragons and such more than anything else, but I never called myself a furry because I thought people would get the wrong idea of me... But then I realized something. Why the heck should I care what others think? I'm me, and only MY thoughts and decisions should matter to me. So yeah, guess you can call me a furry now. And ya know what? I'm pretty happy about it. (wow, this was a rambly comment :/ sorry if you blew a few minutes on reading all that)
OMFG I was the green coyote at 8:39 I went up to almost every camera there it was a blast I got wasted and pass out and didn't remember almost everything but when I saw my picture I flipped out thx for putting me in

Damn I'd love to get there next year. The only problem is that I live in Finland (which is in Europe right next to Russia, Sweden and Norway just so you can kinda make up how far it is). And I don't have money to even buy a flight ticket to the US. I'm going to Anthrocon next year, but I'm kinda scared to... its such a big convention center... and Idk what hotel to get. or were the hotel is.. and I don't want to look stupid walking around that giant convention center all confused and lost.. and Idk when the parade is, so I probably won't be in it ._. can someone make a map of the convention center or something?
I really want to get to Anthrocon so bad! xd I just hate how it's so difficult to get there from where I live (and also I'd love to own a fursuit before participating to a con but that is just a secondary thing). Well I guess when I turn 18 (2018) I can try to get there (just so that I have my credit card, drivers license and other things like that). When I am 18 I could also participate into a con here in Finland (FinFur Animus) but I think I'll rather get to Anthrocon as the community here isn't too big so I bet the con is nothing compared to cons like MFF or Anthrocon for example.

I'm not sure what all you guys do at these conventions, but they look like a blast. Sadly, I get hot and sweaty very easily. Whenever, I work out I'll be profusely sweating. Do they have air-conditioned furry suits? Or what do you do not to melt underneath them when you're participating in one of these conventions? Are there very many female furries? I'm really curious and fascinated about this hobby people enjoy.
Yes, they are called fursuits. There is a way to air condition your fursuit head by putting a fan in there powered by batteries. As for the rest of the body, I'm not so sure. Maybe you should just wear a partial fursuit (head, paws, tail, and sometimes feet) rather than wearing a full suit. I don't think there is a lot of one gender in the fandom. Most of the furries I know are female. Hope this answers your questions :)
I don't know about the fursuit part (because I haven't had the money to buy one yet) but I know that you can have a fan in your fursuit head. If I remember correct this fandom has more male people than female, but there are many people from both genders. But then again it depends on what you see that being a furry means. But yeah this isn't anyhow dominated by the other gender as far as I know.

People make a lot of jokes about furries, but it just looks like people have so much fun participating in the furry conventions. Now that I've watched a few more videos, I've seen that there are a lot of people who just wear the heads, paws, or tails. So that is a great suggestion!

Any animal with long necks, like a giraffe for example, the view is out through the neck, usually disguised as a scarf or something in the shape of a band.
