So great! I’m sure you have said this in another video, but just wanted to drop a reminder here. One way we distract ourselves from the sensation is to question “why is this happening?” Or trying to tie the sensation to a memory. Sometimes that can become more clear after the sensation passes, but when you’re in the middle of it don’t go down the “why” path! Focus on the what.
Love that this video from four years ago shows up for me when these things, somatic healing, is occurring for me. Such a validation that I am moving stuff and it’s ready and I recognize it. ❤ thank you!
We were attacked a few years ago, they tortured me infront of my child. I did not feel any pain for days. My imune system broke down 3 years later. Since listening to you videos i had real pain all over as if the torturing was a day away
Hi Althia, Seth here with Team Lyon. I'm so sorry to hear about this, I can't imagine anything more painful for you and your family. It sounds like your system did it's best to protect you by going into freeze, and now, as you come into contact with this education, it is sparking a thawing of that freeze, which means that the painful memories and sensations can come back. In a way, this is actually very positive, as it means that your system is ready to come back to life, but at the same time it can be very scary and painful. So, I'll encourage you to go slow, and don't watch a video every day - maybe a couple a week at most. Also, it could be helpful to seek out the assistance of a good somatic practitioner, or consider Irene's online programs, but either way, you will want to go very slow and easy. Here's a couple links that may be useful... How to find a good somatic practitioner - ruclips.net/video/04XF7ANnqGk/видео.html Irene's online programs - irenelyon.com/programs/
Hey Anna, Seth here from Team Lyon. Great observation. Yes, one way that is easy to understand this is by thinking of tension as a box, especially chronic tension. Those places where we hold chronic pain and tension are the boxes that hold our anger, anxiety, worry, grief, etc... When we open the box, out comes the stuff!
@@teamlyon3109 I'm not an angry person... I think I was holding anxiety stress depression... But for three days the anger I felt was an awful feeling... i kept it to myself I knew it would go. Thanks for responding 😄❤
@@RoxiTube1 it’s amazing to see how much people disown their anger. Everyone hates to be seen or known as an “angry person” because most of us got that message growing up that we’re not allowed to be angry. Did you get that message? It’s a big collective shadow. F course you’re an angry person m’dear we all are. We all have anger it’s a normal, healthy, and necessary emotion needed to set clear boundaries.

Hi @@unknown-8696 - You are totally right that what you are experiencing is a symptom. 'Depersonalization' is like almost every other label we get from Psychology and Psychiatry - we now know pretty much all 'mental disorders' have the same root cause which is unresolved trauma and the autonomic nervous system dysregulation that comes with it. What you are experiencing is the mental state that comes with the physiology of the freeze response, and as you accurately said - the freeze response is pretty much the peak of survival response arousal, as it only comes on once fight and flight have been unsuccessful. This means our system thinks we are about to die, and that is why we are dissociated - to help ease the pain of that experience. Handy when it's actually life and death, but not so much when we are actually NOT about to die. I'm going to share a few resources that may be useful for you. Essentially what needs to happen though, is to start doing some good, nervous system based trauma work in whatever way that works for you. I recommend starting with Irene's 21-Day Nervous System Tuneup, as that will give you all the basics in terms of education and solid practices. Then you will be more informed about what to look for in a practitioner should you decide to go that route. irenelyon.com/tuneup/ ruclips.net/video/0ICsbXUCKmM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/9EyqPOI3auk/видео.html

I've heard of trembling "therapy" where you get these trembles and it's your body's way of shaking trauma out of the body. I've also heard you might need a professional with you when this happens incase you can't come out of it on your own. What would you recommend if this happens when you do these exercises at home alone? Will it just stop by its own? I've never experienced it so I have no idea but it's something that is worrying me a bit. Wanted to also thank you for these videos! I recently discovered you and I'm binging everything. So fascinating to learn how your nervous system works - I'm hooked! 💝💝
Hi Riikka. Yes, a trembling response can happen sometimes, but it's actually much less common than people make out. This is one thing that can happen when a sympathetic charge dissipates, and for the bulk of the population, that is just a fraction of the kind of trauma they are holding. Yes, if it comes on naturally, it will stop naturally, and it should be embraced and not feared, for it is the body healing at a deep level. There are modalities out there that try to induce a trembling response and we do NOT recommend those, as that can overwhelm someone. I shake like that all the time. Thats what im wanting to release because my knew nuero thinks that is what it is
Trying to get to the point to where i dont pass out and seize anymore
Is ancestral or intergenerational stored in the somatic procedural memory?
I also want to know that, Thomas Hübl investigates this topic deeply.
So much anxiety right now
Ashley... you will be okay.. take a deep breath and know that this will pass. Be safe
Ashley Andrews CBD oil has helped me greatly get through those anxious periods.
