A telescope is like a time machine. You cannot look through space without looking through time, since the distances between these objects is so large, you see things always in the past. This very simple fact is often very compelling to people when they first stumble upon it. The urge to explore our cosmos propels us to make marvels like the JWST, the same urge which propels me to a hopeful career in Astrophysics. But, the present times remind me of the lines by Carl Sagan. "We were hunters and foragers. The frontier was everywhere. We were bounded only by the earth, and the ocean, and the sky. The open road still softly calls. Our little terraqueous globe as the madhouse of those hundred thousand millions of worlds. We, who cannot even put our own planetary home in order, riven with rivalries and hatreds; are we to venture out into space? By the time we are ready to settle even the nearest other planetary systems, we will have changed. The simple passage of so many generations will have changed us; necessity will have changed us. We are… an adaptable species. It will not be we who reach Alpha Centauri and the other nearby stars. It will be a species very like us, but with more of our strengths, and fewer of our weaknesses; more confident, farseeing, capable and prudent."
"You can't look through space without looking through time" is something I never thought I would read but yeah looking at it this way ........ it's right

Elements formation happens in stars due to a process called transmutation. The collision of atoms in the high pressure and temperature conditions of star cores above a certain size produce other elements from hydrogen and helium nuclear level collision or rather interaction. The stars usually provide the energy for this process and the size of the elements produced is limited by a parameter called binding energy per nucleon which peaks for Iron. Another fun thing is that we all are not from the sun but from other star cores that created carbon and other elements through transmutation. So we all are star stuff quite literally. Excellent video Akash, properly researched and presented. Thanks.
To be honest Ineos 2 hr challenge was also said/considered as the biggest thing humanity has achieved. I know it's completely a different thing but then the achievement is so damn unique that it is worthy to get it recognise in such way.

"astronomy and cosmology are a humbling experience" said my childhood hero and an amazing scientist Carl Sagan. When I see these images, I can't agree less.
Hi Aakash… one teeny tiny correction. The image at 3.06 is not the image by Hubble. Infact it is an image by JWST just using a different instrument …. The MIRI- mid infrared instrument. So in this image you can actually see the stars locked in together where the smaller star will be consumed by the bigger brighter one, and the glowing dust is more visible in MIRI The image at 3.12 is the one taken by Hubble (who will always remain our forever love) Sorry for being so nit picky… I’m a huuuuge Astro geek and have been waiting for these images for yearrrs especially so after 25/12/21 when JWST was launched. Thanks for an awesome video as always. I was soooo depressed by the state of our beloved India, but these images gave me hope and perspective. Else timetravel to 1950 Pre Constitution era, where happenings of 2022 is shown to Ambedkar and request him to make indian constitution similar to Germany where only 51% is given to winning party even if they win 80% and make opposition equally powerful (or) make Indian constitution like US where terms are restricted only to 2 rather than unlimited for PM... 🤷🤷
Great to see you cover scientific topics like this. A small request : please make sure that the facts presented are scientifically correct (to the extent we know today). There are a few minor errors and are best avoided. Also it will be nice if one used units which are more universally accepted. Otherwise a fantastic initiative.

I know it's completely a different thing but then the achievement is so damn unique that it is worthy to get it recognise in such way.
Very true. There is no doubt that this is a great scientific achievement but the fact is that these galaxies and stars always existed and we have only been able to photograph them now. People are acting as if the scientists invented the stars and galaxies themselves.
@@hayatm8351 when and how people acted like scientists themselves created these stars and galaxies? I don't see anyone acting like that.
Not really, The New Horizon's space craft is! ISS is too.

Thanks Bhagat Bannerjee - wonderful explanation. 🙏🙏🙏

"astronomy and cosmology are a humbling experience" said my childhood hero and an amazing scientist Carl Sagan. When I see these images, I can't agree less.

We want more videos like this. Astronomy, space, isro, nasa, etc
Superb Bro we all need to think in these different kinds of topics
Hi Aakash… one teeny tiny correction. The image at 3.06 is not the image by Hubble. Infact it is an image by JWST just using a different instrument …. The MIRI- mid infrared instrument. So in this image you can actually see the stars locked in together where the smaller star will be consumed by the bigger brighter one, and the glowing dust is more visible in MIRI
The image at 3.12 is the one taken by Hubble (who will always remain our forever love)
Sorry for being so nit picky… I’m a huuuuge Astro geek and have been waiting for these images for yearrrs especially so after 25/12/21 when JWST was launched.
Thanks for an awesome video as always. I was soooo depressed by the state of our beloved India, but these images gave me hope and perspective. There is a higher power.. much higher than darling PM n chaddi gang realise. Everything will be work out in the end. Stay strong everyone. Love n hugs to all❤️🤗

Mine favourite topics too.. 😀 even my today's WhatsApp status also these images... Thanks for making this episodes ❤️
The fact that James web telescope is able to look into past. This did bring a smile to my face.😇
When you spend your childhood waiting new pics by Hubble you can understand excitement of any astronomy lover for JWT....being astronomy fan i can say this very well how much we are going to see through eyes of JWT 😍😍😍it's going to be an amazing journey to look forward too.... hope to see these kind of videos more on your channel Akash...i really liked your videos on these topics. ☺️

Kia baat hai.. Banerjee ke ladkay ko science ki bhi kamaal Ki knowledge hai. Thanks and kudos to all production team who brought such a great episode out…
Wish Ths James Webb timetravel can go back to 2014 where people can correct their mistakes... 🤷🤷
Har jagah politics.
har har modi. ghar ghar modi
Great to see you cover scientific topics like this. A small request : please make sure that the facts presented are scientifically correct (to the extent we know today). There are a few minor errors and are best avoided. Also it will be nice if one used units which are more universally accepted. Otherwise a fantastic initiative.
It's first time when someone explains about the formation of our universe so beautifully 💟 Respect Sir🌸We wanted to be enlightened more from you about 🌌
Amazing Akaash bhai maza hi aa gaya kaafi badhiya lag raha aapka work explanation
This is the kind of topic needed on popular channel like yours, to spread the awareness of how micro the humans are in the vastness of universe and hence why it is important to be humane with others !
Wonderful coverage of this historic event in Astronomy! I have been in love with Astronomy since my early school days ( Sputnik, Apollo 11 ).
I love all your programmes. You are very funny...and very intelligent!
It's very good that you have covered this JWST event for Indians...who are largely ignorant of our Universe!
I am very passionate for Astronomy/Astrophysics. That got me into Science in the first place.

Good one!!! It took smart people a lot of time and effort to create this masterpiece that can look back at our real origins. And we are still taught through our religious beliefs that God created the universe and whatever is in it. The irony is, no beliefs could ever help us travel back in time or explain how the universe really formed!! 🤦🏻♀️
Nice to see someone covering such discovery
Dhruv covered it when it got launched.

@Alexios I Komnenos dhruv rathee or someone else?
@Alexios I Komnenos haha he's a socialist? The whole country is a socialist, indian people's mind is socialist ... Even our right wing is fcking socialist lmao
You know why? Because India never saw a true capitalism... Only they saw was capitalism by British which they still fear!
Socialism was in trend during the time India got independence. India also adopted it... So today's gen of India cant even differentiate between what the f is socialism and capitalism. Some people say Modi is a capitalist... Fck NO! The interference of govt only got increased during his governance. Lmao
Saying Dhruv is socialist that's why you dont follow him... Is stupid because the whole fcking India believes in socialism... That's why when congress was doing their bad work all people chanted "Modi hai toh mumkin hai!"
Instead of saying "Stay Away Govt!"

As you said sir, as an astronomy enthusiast I've got been following up on James Webb since 2018 and I've gotta say that it's so well made with such eloquence. My respect for you always goes up in such matters. I really do hope our people will realise that NASA and it's European allies have just reached another level in the field of space exploration, even though it's a huge step for the research society all over the world, I can't help but be disappointed that India wasn't part of any of this, it's time our people awaken their scientific temper and work towards true and meaningful progress.
We could literally do anything, yet not believe that there’s Aliens..
I personally find it hard to digest that out there, there's no alien life. It's a clear lie or we have not knocked the right door yet.
