I started a Pirates franchise recently and I traded for Elly Dela Cruz, Hunter Green, Asa Lacy, Andrew Vaughn, Oscar Gonzalez, Corbin Carroll and Johan Duran. I also traded Reynolds and Henry Davis for Byron Buxton, then turned around and traded back some minor leaguers for Henry Davis. Got Ezequiel Durán and Kumar Rocker from the Rangers. Picked up Miguel Sano from FA for two years at $5MM/year. Traded off anyone making more than a few million a year that was on the base roster and I have the #1 speed team in the league. I'm playing all games to the 3rd or 4th inning then simming that game to get through the calendar quickly. I'm only about 20 games in. I did a quick sim on a separate save file and I'm basically going to sign Ohtani for $35M a year for 10 years when the off-season hits and Nola. No need for any other players. I'm pretty sure in my mock season 2 I was also able to trade for Mike Trout somehow (for like Buxton and Carroll and some other B or C level player), but I can't remember. This is gonna be a fun franchise!
I'm currently in the 4th season of a Pirates rebuild, and Contreras never developed for me. An ERA of 5+ for the first 3 seasons, I finally just let him walk.
I don’t know how cheesy trades have always been in The show. But this year I traded Hayes for Austin Riley and trade teoscar and some other B potential guys for Trevor Story and it really turned us into a power house. We easily made the playoffs my first year 🤙
Oh I also signed Gary Sanchez for one year out of free agency, and he didn’t perform very well at the plate but hit a decent amount of home runs and easily threw a lot of steals out at the plate somehow and he also won World Series MVP for me batting .600 in the series all singles except for one 3 Run home run that won us a game in the middle of the series. Def worth a sign I’d say
In my game the attribute increases and decreases don’t show up when I view the player cards. Does anyone know if this is a glitch or something in my settings? I can see if their potential or overall is rising or falling, but can’t see the individual attribute changes
If a draft player doesn’t sign, where does he go? Does he return in the next year draft as a 2yr or 4yr college guy? Or are they a free agent the next FA period?
I see how u draft players and you get players with low overall like 43-70 or 39-75. Do the overall in scout matters? Because I see u getting players with low overall when u scout
Draft is busted this year. In my first draft I got a catcher 4th overall. 18 years old out of high school and was in the MLB by 19 and a 93 overall by 21

Yeah last year he had terrible hitting stats, like 20 contact and 40 power but his fielding kept him at 79 overall
they supposedly adjusted ratings so fielding isn't as important to overall
