Excellent video, Thanks.....You hit the nail on the head, instead of all this drilling, replacing the whole drain tube and all this other stuff I've seen in different videos, just get a person with skinny hands & wrist and it only takes seconds to remove & replace that grommet after you're cleared it & cut out the lil "+" a little eyebrow razor/ trimmer thing works perfect..... I haven't done the driver's side yet...
Getting ready to do mine. Gonna go ahead and start from the right side to make sure that I didn’t blow them off when I tried to blow it out before! And then I’m gonna do both the driver and passenger grommets. Wish me luck!🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thanks for the video. I like how you went in depth on taking the panels off I wish you would’ve shown it for the driver side. I will be doing this project very soon. Thank you again.
Could you perhaps draw a simple sketch on a sketch pad to explain how/where the grommet is, and how the tubes are attached. I have blown the lines from the top a few times which temporarily/partially clears the lines, but problem eventually reoccurs (water ponding in the sill around the sunroof, which builds up and overflows the sill to drip/flood the passenger area) and it appears drilling the grommet shud be a more 'permanent' fix. THANX VERY MUCH. YOU ARE A BIG HELP. Note: the sill can actually hold considerable amount of water after a rain, and when you drive accelerate/brake you get a huge splash - we learned to keep a towel handy to sop up some of the water before driving!
Thanks for the information but being honest here and I hope you can take criticism well, WAY too much talking. Instead of explaining everything first and then doing it, maybe just explain as you’re doing it. You must have said the same thing over and over multiple times. Again, I appreciate the information and I will be doing exactly that fix. Thanks again!
I do appreciate the criticism and I’m just starting out posting and learning with the videos that I saw before making mine they were a little short sided on the information and showing so I decided to go a bit more in depth on this fix and again I appreciate the criticism! Hope the fix goes well for you!!
Hi Chris, I’m having a problem. I put to much air in so I looked to see what others had said and what had happened it has blown the hose loose in the roof( right where the sunroof is). You have to take the side panel off and to do that you have to take the button out to get to the screw BUT the button on there’s is NOTa button that says airbag! Do you know if I take that out would it cause the airbag to come out.
The airbag won’t come out of there, you can remove it with a flathead I would likely recommend disconnecting the battery and being cautious when taking apart that side trim but you shouldn’t have to worry about the airbag if you’re doing it right or at least cautiously
No drain on drivers side on mine found passes drain pushed a screw drive through the grommet low pressure air to the drain hose open sunroof Poe water and bleach mixture to the drain drained on the ground thanks for the help
Luckily the interior lights are no where near where the leak was so nothing was damaged but it was just more annoying to have water coming in to be honest so everything still works
Wonder where's the next X is located beyond that X you drilled out maybe designed to catching large items so they don't block that impossibly unserviceable next drain exit X. Where does it drain to beyond the first X ??? HMMMMM
I guess I’m not fully following it drains underneath the car but let me know if there’s more that I can answer or you can elaborate so I can fully figure out what you are asking

Cut the plastic on the side where your hand goes in. Makes it easier and its covered up when you put the piece back on that you took off.
I was thinking about doing that very same thing. Would make it it alot easier to access.
Do you have any water coming in down the side on the driver side? I have the same vehicle
I didn’t before but I also cleared out the drivers side drain too because I figured if one side was clogged the other would at least be close

Right on! Sounds like an interesting way of going about it 💪
Do to the water coming in so your interior lights, side mirror stop working?
Luckily the interior lights are no where near where the leak was so nothing was damaged but it was just more annoying to have water coming in to be honest so everything still works
Replace marker lights on front

I hope you paid your sister for her help
😂 I made dinner for the family that night so I think it was a mutually beneficial situation
BTW people, there are 4 drains on the Hummer H3. Doing one drain is not going to help you.
