I love the video quality of your DJI but my wife and I have set a drone budget of about $600. I also want to take the part 107 exam and join AMA. Nice video Nat. You're doing a good job of providing the hobbyist (and smaller FAA operators) great information on how to get involved in drone flying. I'm always hesitant to comment on your drone videos as my interest is focused on Professional Applications (capital P was intentional but not intended as a snub...I get what the hobby pilot wants to do...I do those things at times too). I hear you loud and clear, and still have my personal reservations about DJI and some of their. .. . "ways" I suppose. Still, I have not run into this problem in years. Doesn't mean it couldn't ever happen though! Happy flying my friend.
The best drones out there are ones that don't land lock you, first and foremost. Then you go from there to nail one down. I just have the orivinal Mavic Pro. But it's jailbroke now (thank the drone Gods!). But I'm not an idiot who will jeopardize anyone. A new phone is nowhere near a new drone in comparison. You are dealing with the FAA and not the FCC. Make sure before you buy any drone that you find out about its "big brother" lock you out firmware that will keep you from taking off in areas that are perfectly safe and make you wish you'd never bought it. You'll be much happier. DJI is the absolute WORST when it comes to that because they are so big as a company and builds in over protection to keep the overlords happy.
@@TheRcSaylors Besides jailbreaking them (actually changing firmware settings) I don't believe I've seen any DJIs after the Mavic Pro drone yet but I also haven't been looking. The Autel Evos (my brother has two) can take off right at the local airport with no shutdown or geo fence locking. I love you guys btw. But if you are in an open, non metropolitan area, you may not experience the DJI frustrations :)
@@TheRcSaylors Yes. I was really erked when the update came thru that started the throttling. But Im 😎 now :) Time to get back into flying jets. You guys did get me into boats though. I bought b4 learning there are only 2 places in So Cal I can take them near me! But I can't wait :)
Spot-on comments. I’m impressed by the performance of DJI drones, but will never buy one because DJI codes flight-restriction capability into their flight software. Currently, it’s geofencing. With Remote ID rolling out in the U.S. in 2023, they can literally prevent your drone from flying if it’s not equipped with a RID module. That’s WAY too Big Brother for me... I’ll stick with my Hubsan and Fimi drones, which do not have flight restriction capability.
I don't agree at all about DJI. I won't buy a drone where the company controls the software. Bad title for this video. Sorry, RCSaylors, but my first thumbs down.

Currently no, but probably at some point within the year or so, yes 👍😁😎⚓
Just had my DJI MA2 repaired because it was loosing RC connection and GPS at 400 feet above and 50 feet out.
Oooh, I don't like to hear that!! Glad you got it repaired though 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors don’t worry, I was able to regain control and land safely. However, this incident really messed with my confidence with the drone. Even after DJI repaired it and btw DJI’s customer service was outstanding and a very quick turnaround on repairs.
I like your videos but a grand for a drone. Please mix entry level drones for the beginner with these high priced ones.
So just a few days ago, we did 👍😁 About 20% of the cost of this drone! 😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors Thank you for your fast response. Are you saying a beginner should expect to pay close to $ 500? Is this the video? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085VLSZ1S/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B085VLSZ1S&linkCode=as2&tag=ther0602-20&linkId=9e49901c9ca842eba456c6628e2a3901
Abby you need to checkout Danny Huyhn creations RUclips channel he creates animatronic mini rc figures (robots) for rc crazy vehicles his robots range from the Alien monster riding a custom built trike, to reapers, gun slingers all on some type of rc vehicles he makes, the scale details are amazing, he must use a 3D printer but to create mini servos to make the head, arms and hands move on his figures this guys got talent, enjoy.
Jon
Why aren’t you using the smart controller, there really are no issues
Overall i believe the air 2s is the best drone out right now.
kan ayhave rcboats H. 101

Plz help me find one plz
So once we click on your link, whatever we then buy, you'll get a small kick back?
Yes 👍😁
Too much $
I thought you weren’t going to review drones anymore? Lol
No thank you. Not when a faulty update can make it unflyable.
I hear you loud and clear, and still have my personal reservations about DJI and some of their. .. . "ways" I suppose. Still, I have not run into this problem in years. Doesn't mean it couldn't ever happen though! Happy flying my friend.
Great advice!

We did very briefly touch on that in this video, but I have to ask out of personal curiosity: where does one purchase said drone that you speak of? 🤔
Understandable for sure. We've always frowned on that aspect of DJI. Super limiting and gives the user less control.
@@TheRcSaylors Yes. I was really erked when the update came thru that started the throttling. But Im 😎 now :)
Time to get back into flying jets.
There ya go. An INFORMED consumer. It would be like, "restricted talking zone. You cannot make or receive a call in this cellular zone.".

@@slapdat.byteme this maybe my deciding factor on pulling the trigger on getting a h501s
DJI is just the best of the worst drones ever. They’re basically just cameras that fly slow. So boring.
The slowest DJI does almost 40 mph 😀
Please do me a giveaway DJI Drone....I can't buy ....
You want us to give away the drone we had to save up for a year to buy???
