Hearing this poem again after the announcement of Techno's death honestly hits way differently.
I can't help but hear this poem from Technoblade and how he was always the kind of person to shoot for the moon and even farther with no shame and no hesitation... I like to think that this is how he was in the end.
Despite all the pain and suffering from cancer, he still smiled and laughed for the people around him, trying to put everyone to some sort of ease that the cancer wasn't getting to him, and that he wasn't going to go down without a fight.
In the end, he did fly so high that he burst into something even brighter; not a ball of wax, feathers, and flames... but beautiful fireworks that left the biggest memory on everyone.
I think like this poem, Technoblade fell for something worthwhile... the life he lived.

This reminds me of some of the fan theories floating around when Phil and crew were trying to find a way to resurrect Wilbur. A lot of people were theorizing that it'd cost a life for a life, and that Phil would try and sacrifice his.

This reminds me so much of a poem my friend had written once, while she was reading it, it had eventually it brought tears to her eyes. Yet she was so proud and happy with how it turned out. I was so touched that I was the first she shared it to, but then she moved away and we parted. We still talk weekly, but it could never be the same.

This is really wonderful. I love how more and more people compare the characters of the dsmp to Greek heroes or legends or even gods, it's just so interesting and your animations are so great the transitions are smooth and natural and the audio was great too

Если я ничего не напутала - тут Фил после взрыва умирает, защитив и оставив в живых Уилбура. И этот вариант кажется мне намного более логичным в плане характера персонажей. Очень грустно, но очень красиво. Спасибо!!!
I actually have no words to respond to this, it’s so nicely drawn and the comparison to the poem and myth of Icarus is so smartly done I love it, I can’t get enough of your work 🙏
Okay imma just say it: I am a Greek mythology NERD, and the poem always gets me at one small point. Most legends don’t say that Apollo gave Icarus his wings. It was his father, Daedalus. But that’s just most legends that I have personally read, so it’s honestly hard to tell.
0:56 Love the subtle details hear of being able to see the outline of the fence through Philza's back, and then his knuckles, a nod to him being dead.
Ooh, nice catch! I totally missed this and thought maybe it was an AU where instead of (or perhaps in addition to) losing his wings Philza lost his sight.
Physically in pain because of this. I'm someone who always pitied Wilbur and empathized with philza so this checks every box in my head
Oh, my heart just broke at the end there. I knew it was coming, but it happened anyways, much like how death always follows life. Those blank, milky eyes were so haunting, yet gentle and accepting. Bravo.
Especially since, due to the timing of the animatic, it seems like he had forseen everything that was going to happen, but knew that there was nothing that he could do to change any of it, because the future was already set...
