I mean.... Alpine's A424, Toyota's GR010 (kinda ignored), Acura's ARX-06, and Lamborghini's SC63 are all close contenders if not equal or even better. I personally think that when people hear a V8, they expect it to blow out ur ears and scream like a mf, but I think that sometimes, the quieter engines are the best (keep in mind that I personally love all the LMDH/LMDH sounds).
That's as un-Porsche of an exhaust note I've ever heard.. probably the turbos muffling that V8. But I expect they'll win races with it, Porsche usually does very well.
I mean, the sounds kinda reminds me of the 918 Porsche which for me is my favorite non-911 Porsche out there. So much so that I thought the 963 had the engine from the 918 when it didn’t.
Yeah, I bugged them to give us a preview of the sound, but nothing. Apparrently it sounds much more Porsche-like according to one of Porche's officials.
@@bestopinion9257 yeah but winning is also porsche's signature. More so than the engine. Probably they achived better balance and efficiency with this engine.
Sounds not so bad when it's alone on the track. But nothing beats Cadillac's LMDh sound.
Agreed.

I wondered what it would sound like with the new crankcase but that might not even happen if it proves reliable at LeMans.
@@ponanikhoza1934They apparently cancelled the operation because of the reliability it's shown throughout the first half of this year
@@hypezzyy For me, every V6 turbo (except Ferrari) sounds better than this Porsche and Lamborghini
The coolest car on track. Can’t wait see the 963s in Detroit
Update: It was fucking tremendous
Not a bad sound, but I want it louder

They already have two wins (including Jota last weekend).

@@sandalogaming6766 The 963 motor design was inspired by the 918's V8, which itself was based on the RS Spyder V8 -according to wikip.
I don't think they've ever built something that didn't win races.
Vive Porsche ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Wonder when (not if) they'll fully uncork it, and find out what it can do round the 'Ring?
Sounds beautiful. That 918 engine is wonderful, it’s a shame they turbocharged it definitely it would sound better without turbos
Awesome. Shame for BOP
This car sounds amazing. It really hurt my ears in Interlagos
This car has an extraordinarily beautiful side profile. Not as nice as the Caddy or 499P from the front though 😎
after le mans they will change the crankshaft to Crossplane, there will be changes in the engine sound.

Porsche should stick with flat 6.
Absolutely agree. Should've stick with a flat 6 twin turbo engine.
@@mikaelbihl-matias9462 Flat 6 (boxer) is Porsche's signature. V8 is common.
If VW really wants to keep Porsche special.
@@mikaelbihl-matias9462 do flat 6 turbo engines really sound better than this? Imo these turbo engines sound a bit like angry vaccum cleaners.

@@rickrolled7930 Well, this is VW Penske. Porsche is slowly dying in VW's arms.
Porsche 963 best prototype 2024❤🎉

God those flat plane v8's sounds bad. A civic type R sound better than that.
