  • Unit 1: From Two-Line- Elements to Low Earth Orbit Simulation and Propagation using TLE- Analyzer and GMAT R2016 - first non-listed diffusion of this film: 20.06.2017
In This first unit of the compass-2 educational videos, we show how to convert the modified Keplerian elements and the date/time of issuance of two-line element sets into a GMAT script file using the TLE-Analyser and perform one-week pass prediction and orbital decay analysis using that orbit-script in GMAT.

Hello, can you share the TLE-Analyzer software? I can't find it on the internet. thank you very much!

Sorry for the very late reply. Unfortunately, the Software isn't any more available on the Internet. However, there are better ways to get the state vectors for Earth- and non-earth-bound Satellites, using a telnet bbs connection to the JPL horizons database, which is still online! There you can get the desired state vectors for the ISS and, for example, Juice or Voyager that you can implement to calculate the position with GMAT. Also, look on my channel, I uploaded a full course on how to write Software into GMAT to perform the calculations and get the ground station parameters which enable you to simulate tracking a satellite. It can predict satellite Orbits around the Earth, but also around other planets, and calculates Azimut, Elevation, and Doppler shift for you.
In this course series, I also explain how to Access the JPL horizons BBS using a PuTTY telnet connection. Try the course ITS for free.:

Hello, I was wondering how you would calculate true anomaly and SMA without TLE analyser as I’m having a bit of trouble

Hello, do you have an idea how I would be able to find the reference area when I'm only given the diameter? I'm trying to model the orbital decay of satellite debris, of which I only have the diameter. Any other advice on doing this would be appreciated. Thanks.
