I would agree. The jar is more forward, or punchy in it's sound where as the box seems to just disappear into the sound stage presented by the speakers. I would suggest a test of just the lowed to compare each device without the mids and highs the speakers offer. This can help isolate the difference between them without the challenge of mentally filtering out the rest of the audio. Over all I think they both sound good, and each has it's merits depending on listening preference, and type of music being played. That said, I think I like the jar a bit more, but would be happy with either in my own setup. Thanks for the video!!
Box sounds marginally better because the enclosure is bigger so lower frequencies are reproduced better. I would love to hear this sub in a ported enclosure
The Jar and the box sound very similar. The box appears to have a softer more dispersed sound. The jar seems slightly sharper and face forward.
Hey Dennis, I love this feedback. Often I'm too close to notice the differences. I would agree that the jar is a bit less diffuse than the box.

I think the jar is deeper tuned for lower sounds and that the box is tuned for higher sounds.
It was really difficult for me to pin down the difference. I like the way you described it. Thanks!

The flat walls of the box create a lot of harmonics that the jar tends to reduce. I think the jar sounds more accurate.
Thanks so much! I prefer the jar as well, plus it looks kinda cool. :)
