I really enjoy this cover. Obviously I adore U2's version because it meant something extremly important back at the time. What I enjoy about Paramore's is that it's very reflective and shows, no matter what nationality or age they are, that Bloody Sunday is still an important history of the world, and will never be forgetton.
I feel like it holds a more sorrowful yet persevering tone to it. I see it as, when the song came out it was only maybe 10 or so years after Bloody Sunday, and progress could be seen, so it had a more upbeat and optimistic feel to it. This cover reflected the time it was made in, even with all this time passing, atrocities still occur and though we've progressed, it seems as if we can't escape senseless violence. Even still, we carry on try to be better as individuals. That's what I read from this cover personally.
dont know which ep this was in, but i remember downloading the -whole discoraphy- of Paramore and this was in it, so i carried it my phone without knowing it was a U2 song. i Was so younggg, thank god i later learned about all the 80s-90s legends too, now i have decades and decades of music and im so greatful.
I like this version, but it's more like… i don't know, a more romantic sound, but I can still hear the pain she expresses through her voice. It's good though, really good!
I'm agree with @notthestuffofledgend This version is more melancholic and I'm in love with the voice of Hayley Williams. Musical tastes can't be a topic of discussion.
Everyone needs to calm their tits here.. As an irish person I love that they covered, maybe the song meant something else in their eyes??! Idk but its an amazing cover, lots of emotion, and I love paramore so ive no problem.. Beats the original for me because im not a big u2 fan...
Respectfully as a fellow Irishman it absolutely does not beat the original, having seen it live in Croke park I can promise you however your right, this isn’t a bad cover at all
I like it, it has a different feeling than U2 version. But still i prefer the original version though, it has that depressing tone compared to this one which is only an attempt at covering the original. Still, this is quite good...
I love beautiful Hayley and her gorgeous voice. However I prefer the U2 version as I am a U2 fan from way way back. The original version of this song was quite powerful and it’s hard to compete with that. Nice try and good delivery but a bit too slow for me.

when is tonight and how will we find each other there it seems either everyone goes at once or not a single one ever gets a chance to get out come across
@littlegirl12334 - You're not serious, are you? The band members of U2 actually lived through violence in the streets on a fake armistance day (January 1st - Sunday Bloody Sunday) in Ireland. This isn't a love song, and she has no clue what it's like not be able to die her hair with blood in the streets. Go back to your reality shows.
song is abou't human rights march in derry ireland ,were british armed forces gunned down and murdered unarmed civilans a day that sparked the troubles in ireland dirty beyond words ,the song is not abou't anywhere else or any other day and it certainly is not a love song its a part of irish history that sparked a war but gave the message that peace and human rights is not a reason to be murdered but it is a reason to never forget and it is a reason to forever seek human rights to be counted for
Surprisingly enough, I like it. Don't love it, still prefer the original and I think Saul Williams did the better cover, but his went in the opposite emotional direction.
@Nigelxman The way that U2 sung it was almost upbeat, hardly a nice theme for a war song. I'm not saying that they were terrible, but I'd hardly condemn this cover as terrible when it's really quite good.
no doubt that she is a good singer, and the band is really tight, I am not a fan but I do respect the music being they are good musicians and good at what they do. Just not a fan of their type of music. BUT, they suck the anger right out of this song. The history of the song and the lyrics and what U2 was feeling when they wrote the song are definitely not felt in this rendition. Yes they sing it play this version BEAUTIFULLY!!! BUT you don't do this to a song about violence in a war torn city
i know your comment is ten months old i just came across it ,your in need of been corrected bigtime tune sunday bloody sunday is not a love its abou't a real sad day in irish history, a day in history were human rights marchers got gunned down murdered unarmed in the streets of derry, ireland you say you don't watch reality shows, well maybe you should study history before you call a song that still effects a nation a love song , to understand and respect such a tune is at least know its meaning
+Bourbon_Blues You do realize the point of actual artists (i.e. not just some random fan who learned the guitar tabs) doing a COVER of a song isn't to make it sound exactly the same, but to put their own spin on it, right? Just because you don't like what they chose to do with it doesn't mean they didn't understand it.
I agree with you, it took away the whole feel of the original. It took away the whole soul of it. It's a good show of musicianship, sure, but it's not right for the song. The song is about oppression, struggle and desperation. This just makes it like any other song.
your view is lol it couldn't be better or have more feeling than the u2 orignal it wasn't her people murdered by british armed forces on the streets of derry unarmed human rights marchers ,it was a day that sparked a 30 year war of untold nasty outcomes nobody outside of ireland can sing it more heart felt period fact ,granted she sings it her way but doesn't touch the surface of the meaning behind the tune that still echos on the streets and minds that witnessd its a very powerful song truth
2020 and still one of the best Paramore covers
I like it better than the original

This cover made a grown man cry hard. But i'm in awe and happy and smiling.

Paramore, especially this song, has helped me through a difficult time, it's probably not over yet but it's better with Paramore
What a lovely version!
This has a 90's feel to it, right? Prob the drums. Love it!
I've never heard this whoa this is good
🍀May Our Irish Brothers And Sisters Be Truely Blessed!🍀
Different take on a good song. But I do like this version. She has a beautiful voice.
U2 fan, and love this! Great cover!!
As a 2000s kid this is how I learned about this song.
Very beautiful voice
dont know which ep this was in, but i remember downloading the -whole discoraphy- of Paramore and this was in it, so i carried it my phone without knowing it was a U2 song. i Was so younggg, thank god i later learned about all the 80s-90s legends too, now i have decades and decades of music and im so greatful.
Good job bro!!
Brilliant !
Put my back up every time i hear this.
Beautiful cover, both sang nicely :D
I like this version, but it's more like… i don't know, a more romantic sound, but I can still hear the pain she expresses through her voice. It's good though, really good!
i thought this cover was a fever dream
I'm agree with @notthestuffofledgend This version is more melancholic and I'm in love with the voice of Hayley Williams. Musical tastes can't be a topic of discussion.
This is dope 💯
She is perfect...
Everyone needs to calm their tits here.. As an irish person I love that they covered, maybe the song meant something else in their eyes??! Idk but its an amazing cover, lots of emotion, and I love paramore so ive no problem.. Beats the original for me because im not a big u2 fan...

I like the cover is better but not sure if it is better.
It has no energy my friend. I need that! U2 & Bono gives it to me & I am 56!! So I am going to play some U2 !! My friends!! Have fun!! I am!!
Its a great cover but it does not beat the original. Doesn't have the same intensity
1.5 speed
Thank you
This speed is set to the original. I am only here to confirm this.
I like it, it has a different feeling than U2 version. But still i prefer the original version though, it has that depressing tone compared to this one which is only an attempt at covering the original. Still, this is quite good...
CLA82529 true
Wow - this sounds like it's aranged by my favourite band: Yorushika
I love beautiful Hayley and her gorgeous voice. However I prefer the U2 version as I am a U2 fan from way way back. The original version of this song was quite powerful and it’s hard to compete with that. Nice try and good delivery but a bit too slow for me.
I agree totally!! amen to that
2022 still a Paramore fan

@masseur10 i think they were trying to go for the vulnerable/ helpless side that is also present in the original track.
Brill!!!
when is tonight
and how will we find each other there
it seems either everyone goes at once
or not a single one ever
gets a chance
to get
out
come
across
is it just me or does this slightly sound off until you speed it up?
Does anyone know the chords?
*fact is fiction and tv reality*
Wow I’m really glad we made it past that
like her version better a nice touch to it
😍🥰😍🥰😍🥰😍😘😘😘😘😘
cuando Paramore era chido
Great :)
Pick up the beat and she can sing higher than that I still love the song!!!

Not horrible for a remake.

@indietrack78 While I also like U2's music, I agree that they did it better.
show
tbh anyone who's family is going through war can relate. and yeah, she hasn't been through anything like that, but she still sings it nicely.
ZeroGyzer it's not about war... (necro lol)

Its easy to add onto a masterpiece. Where is yours?
Still into you
@IPutNameHereI "Upbeat"???? hahahahahahahahahaha Wait there's more.... hahahahahahahahaha :-) You're a funny guy. :-)
This is beyond horrific. It's like she has no clue whatsoever what this song is about. Just horrible. The band however, is quite good.
Melhor que a original e muito
@indietrack78 whattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt ????????????? u2 suck?????? say thank you to U2 for having rock bands like paramore playing on tv
@Nigelxman Nice try, Bono
@Nigelxman The way that U2 sung it was almost upbeat, hardly a nice theme for a war song. I'm not saying that they were terrible, but I'd hardly condemn this cover as terrible when it's really quite good.
SORRY BUT PEOPLE SING THIS WITH A POP PASSION! CHECK THE HISTORY SINGERS OF THIS -THEN SING THE STORY!
I love this song as I also hate Sundays
I don't know if this was an intentional Alan partridge refernce or not
This is not mood music, whatever, it needs to be sung with angst!!
no doubt that she is a good singer, and the band is really tight, I am not a fan but I do respect the music being they are good musicians and good at what they do. Just not a fan of their type of music.

This is not a Rebel song its actually about a Desert Sunday Brownie Sunday
Funny, rhythm sounds more like Wonderwall.
Useless excuse of a cover, reckon they didn't understand the song at all.

KaiserSoze679 I get that not to worry. But I'm still entitled to have my say on the tune.

This is an insult to U2 and the whole of ireland
Malísima.... Es una muy malísima adaptación y cocer, se escucha mal :/ lastima paramore
Ruined the original song by U2
Bad....
