  • In this video i did my best to share why I switched from Spectrum to Starlink internet service. I share the unboxing and set up as well as speed tests. We purchased everything directly at www.starlink.com/
I have added our VPN to the router and we saw no slowdown on speed like spectrum has. This is the VPN we use www.expressvpn...

We live in a rural area and have spectrum as well. We have so many issues with spectrum to the point where I almost didn’t pass my speed test for a remote job. 😩. When doing speed tests on spectrum we vary from 30-40mbps lol. Plus it goes out every time it rains sigh. We have so many outages that’s it’s unreal. We just signed up for Starlink and hope we like it once we set it up!

I was in the same boat as you. Only one internet provider at 6mbs (frequently out for hrs at a time) and $85. Been with them 10 years, switched to Starlink and it is amazing! Most speeds are over 200mbs. I would gladly pay more if I had to!

I recently changed my Xfinity service to Internet only. While I am generally pretty happy with the (gigabit) service, for the price, we recently had an outage for over 10 days when hurricane Beryl blew through our area. I have looked at the Starlink system before, but this may well push me to make the leap, as I doubt that there would have been any interruption in service with that system. I did have power because we have a generator. Thanks again for a great video tutorial.

Exactly what happened to us minus the hurricane. We lost power 5 days in a row. Shut my channel down and with starlink no problems. I just use a solar generator and always service

Holy cow your spectrum is sooooo slow 😮. My Spectrum download is around 300. I too live in the middle of nowhere, I am in Wyoming. I have thought about switching to Starlink. I will be interested in your follow up next month.

I pay for 1000 and used to get 300. They are having major issues here. It drops completely 1-3 hours every day. I’m over it

Major storm knocked out power to 350k people. I have been witihout power for nearly a week. As a physician, need online access 24/7 to work. So, bought the Starlink from Westmarine. Cost $299. Setup super easy. Delivered next day. (Cleveland, Ohio). Similiar speed tests at home. Plan to cancel my Spectrum cable internet plan. Thanks for posting this review.

Funny, I too have Spectrum and we just bought Starlink mini with the residential roam plan (we travel in our RV a lot and I work while Rv'ing). We are in southwestern Washington state and we too are limited in our options and we too have little to no cell signal at our home location. In our area, when the power goes out, so does our Spectrum service ans usually when power comes back, the Spectrum service takes 1 or 2 hours more to back online. Also, Spectrum has been slowly increasing the price of our basic internet service...5 years ago it was $45/mo its now $95/mo. We also experience a degradation in speeds. Right now our Download it 85 Mbps and 11 up. We are going to do the same...keep Spectrum for a bit while testing out Starlink. If Starlink works as advertised in our area, then we will dump Spectrum.

You have peaked my interest as I have Spectrum but get a lot of buffering on cloudy/raining days. How would the weather affect the Starlink signal? Would it be like satellite tv where rain or heavy clouds would block the signal preventing you from having internet access?
