- Looping out when you're learning to wheelie or manual on your MTB is never fun, but it's an inevitable part of learning moves on the back wheel - or is it...? Blake decided to get in his shed and build himself a wheelie bar to see if he can make loop outs a thing of the past!

Can’t wait to see what they say on Hacks and bodges
"I was going for 180mm and the length of this spindle is 174, so I was pretty close" and now we know why The Crab rolls down the trail sideways.
😂
😂i love the duck on an bike
this is so fun thanks Blake! Love how much fun you had making this and it had me smiling ear to hear :)
Love it I hope this becomes a regular show
I'll try my hardest. What do you want to see me build next. 😁
This is gold!
Blake is like a younger James may off top gear
I love Blake's builds 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Now is time to hit the trails with that thing !!!
Blake Builds is the best!
A man who can fabricate is worth his weight in gold. Dude I love your little shop. Mine is such a disaster with all the tools and materials lying around. Not to mention Christmas tree, Easter and Halloween stuff. 👍👍👍
We need more episodes of Blake builds
Blake, that was a nother great video dude, well done, 👏 🤘
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🤘
3:04 this laughter made me laugh so hard 😂😂 love you Blake and your crazy-genius ideas!
Another great build
Nice work Blake 👍
As ever full of enthusiasm doing the build 😁
Great stuff #GMBN 🤘
Thanks Ross ✌
Blake, you are a legend!
I’ve been into wheelies and manuals since I first got on a bike. Years ago I tried to make a “wheelie stunt stand” - basically a metal bar above the rear wheel so you can step on it and do a manual on it - just like the motorcycle stunt riders have multiple bars/pegs at the rear to step on for different tricks.
It was connected to the axle via bmx pegs I had mounted, and the support bar was extending to a custom seat clamp. It was awesome, but stupid heavy ….
I’m planning to try this again soon on my Trek Roscoe Hardtail.
I recon you should make one too! It will be a lot of fun making it and even more so going down a hill with you feet on that thing instead of on your pedals
haha same with me, i did something similar with pegs too, but in wood, still in experimental phase ...
Blake, you make me laugh and smile. Thank you for making these types of videos.
blake is my favourite MTB and youtube celebrity x3x3x3
Love a good Blake Builds!
Great video 😃 always look forward to a Blake Builds ! 🙃🙃
Love it
Build more! I love it, just going off to do some pull-ups on my homemade CrossFit rig!
Will always come by for a Blake Builds! Great video, thanks!
Thanks 🙌 We're glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Stoked. Glad you liked it Max
Need a castor wheel on the back so that it swivels. Good fun Blake keep it up!
exactly,A castor with weak springs to pull it true so the touch down don't feel weird would probably help
Wow, there is Bulgarian money on the shelf 😂 Blake still remember Pamporovo bike park from 2016.
Well done Blake!!!!! Just Loved every minute of the build.... This is more exciting than your van build...... Just amazing....... Ride Safe!!!!!
All I need on top of that is actual skills and some extra padding. 😎👍 I think the motorcycle drag racers would be thrilled with your engineering and fabrication work on that one Blake. It looks super clean.
Cheers 👍
Awesome
Haha good one Blake.
you could make the bars that connect to the seat stay with pivots on the ends so you could kind of adjust the height of it
ahhhh cool, we have a duck on a bike… it’s halarious🤙🏻 nice build dude
Now that's a perfect gopro or insta mount.
😅 now that's a work of art...donated my manual machine to the local bike park for kids to learn and I don't have anything for me now. Maybe this is what I need. Shame I don't have a welder
Cool, you need to put a shopping trolley wheel on there so it can steer.
When you going to build a full suspension can't wait for it haha
Bloody good idea, you should've looked into the patient because surely someone will bring that to market?
thats pretty cool
Brachistochrone (brah kissed a crone) was the greatest shredder in ancient Greece. Braki, as his friends called him, had one simple question: What's the best shape for a ramp? The answer to that question haunted mathematicians for centuries. Legend has it that Newton invented calculus just so he could solve the problem and give shredders everywhere a definitive solution. It worked. He discovered that the best shape for a ramp is the inner curve of a cycloid, but to this day, ramp builders still use radial curves, and every time a ramp is built with a radial curve, Braki kickflips in his grave. I post this for the sake of general knowledge, but if you really want something to build... go make Braki proud. Cycles are for cycloids.
Sick
Skateboard truck with larger wheels to replace the single wheel?
That is awesome. Your welding skills are great. I don't have the talent or the tools to make something like that. Good job Blake...much respect!
Do they sell something like this or is this one of a kind?
Thanks, its a one off. I was curious on if it would work or not
You should do a update video of your work shop
Good video concept!
This is one is obviously wildly impractical though fun, but this series could be educational to some people, if you were to cut the head tube off a frame and re-weld at the upper and lower ends of the slack/steep angle scale, to highlight the effect it has on the geometry and riding style? It would show the lay-over of the wheels when more slack and show what no caster angle does to high speed handling lol Same could be applied with Chain stay length and seat tube angle as well.
@gmbn It needs a caster wheel
or (if someone wants to go crazy)
- modify the front steerer of a micro scooter kickboard (lean and steer)
or a skateboard truck
Love this! Blake’s Builds ftw!
Can you do a video of actually teaching someone to manual with this?? Would love to see if it gives them more confidence to find the balance point! I can wheelie but can’t manual 🤦♂️
Think the Wheelie Bar might need a bit of a re-design before letting anyone else loose on it 😂 We've got some manual tips here in case they help 👉 ruclips.net/video/3yMdBi25PnA/видео.html
I made an anti loop device to practise wheelies on my Triumph Street Triple. It worked but I stopped practicing as the police frown on wheelies
The duck looks like rich😂😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Good work and an awesome idea...now if someone can just mass produce it...
And then it can double up as a gopro mount and trailer hook up for a shopping trolley Blake 😂😂
Nice job...
Thanks!
the next big project should be a self built fully obviously :D
I know it's probably bonkers but I would really like to see Blake building something with Colin Furze! Great video by the way!
Mega! Can you put something in it that actuates the rear brake when the wheelie bar wheel touches the ground?
Need a tail wheel off a small tail drager plane.💡
Taking orders my brother? 😄👌
Flexing and welding in a full wooden workshop oh boy😆
Get down yer local canal n pick up a shopping trolley wheel
😂😂😂
A swivel caster wheel would be perfect for the rear!
my only concern is putting all that stress on the top rear triangle :O looks good though and clearly works
Just replace the wheel with a ball and you have full motion in the rear
thats a good idea. thanks
Amazing ! 🚀Now do the finished product in carbon 🤣
What if you remove whatever is stopping the jockey wheel going side to side within the frame? Give it freedom to wiggle? Would that work?
You should team up with Sam Pilgrim and start building some of the weird and wonderful bikes he rides
Are you ever not having fun Blake?
(Don't answer that, it has the potential to bum me out for the day...)
Thanks Blake, Nick, and the whole GMBN team!
How about a caster wheel!?
Downhill-Cargobike next?
think aircraft tail dragger rear castor wheel that pivots
Great... now can you send a drop with this thing?
Now to get a factory to make them in china and sell them for $150
Or...have them made in the US and sell them for $500...🚴
So whens the Enduro crab build starting?
Blake, haven’t you’ve seen motorcycle drag racing ? Their wheelie bars have the little wheel an inch or two off the ground. There is no way they could keep the front wheel on the ground without it.
Just cringing at the scrapes on the rear triangle.
I cant manual. Let me try it?
Blake is out to terrorize the neighborhood… again! I think we need some man on the street interviews next time to get a feel for the local opinion.
Skateboard trucks so when you lean it turns like skateboard does
Swap the wheel out for a caster 😅
Try cantered wheels like the ones on a grocery cart
I meant caster wheels
Now put it on the front, and practice your Endo´s
weilding inside a wooden garage 👍
They sold those in the 70s
REALLY?! Sick
That is stupid , but funn 😂
Just use a back break
Lol😂 bodge
Drag bike 😂
As we can see, it is absolutely useless
Try using an office chair wheel that uses a scooter/rollerblade wheel. Love the video.
Really good idea , I was thinking a swivel joint with weak springs to pull it back true when it lifts off the ground
Look like a dragster
Swivel caster would try turn the bike more. Blake try a omnidirectional wheel, pretty spoony but would work a dream!
Build a full sus 🙏🙏🙏 I’ve been waiting for soo long❤
Freebord adjustable castor wheel would do the trick
The bike is now like a dragster.😁😁😁😁😁
Caster wheel would work. Nice job
