A little back story, Jacoby of Papa Roach approached Ronnie to do a remake of this song as the 20th anniversary was coming up. So Papa Roach initiated this remake. Ronnie, I feel, didn't cover this song, he really honored the lyrics and the feeling of those lyrics by using this song to invoke the emotions behind the anger the first version shows. Feelings of sadness a cry for help, and finally some hope to overcome. Also - yes, Ronnie spent time in prison for a probation violation. At that time, he was the lead singer of his band Escape the Fate. However, while in prison, they kicked him out of his own band. So he spent time writing music and literally formed a new band. Epitaph records seems to have stood by him through it all - which is cool. And he not only rose to the top with once, he did it a second time after having everything taken from him (prison). I think Ronnie is a great example of redemption and in a way embodies the visuals of the video. Again - great reaction!

As far as I am concerned Papa Roach wrote this song Waiting for Ronnie to sing it. I never resonated with the original but Ronnie brings out so much emotion I never felt before with any song.
Ronnie's fine now, he's living his life in a healthy way. He has maintained his sobriety since his incarceration. He credits his daughter, Willow, for keeping him on the right track, she's in a few of the videos. I think his band is drug free also. They are definitely not a partying band. He has been in a committed relationship for almost 7 years. His girlfriend is Saraya from AEW, also wrestled under the name Paige in the WWE. He works out with her daily. They have their dogs and birds. He is very loved. At the end of the song when they're singing, "I cant go on living this way", Jacoby is singing in that part. There is a video of Ronnie and Jacoby where Ronnie is playing the rough, unfinished track. Jacoby loved it. Anyway, Ronnie is good now.
