Love your guinea pigs they all look So happy.I have two guinea pigs they are the sweetest little guys.I am looking after four guinea pigs for my neighbors who are away on holiday. They are a pleasure to look after though quite a bit of extra work for me but glad I could help my neighbors who deserve a holiday break.😃💟
I considered a pet rodent and watched many RUclips videos about their care. I was a kid in the 1970s, and It’s great to see how most people care for their pet rodents now. Such a pleasant change from metal chicken wire bottoms. In choosing which species of pet rodent I wanted, I narrowed it down to rats or Guinea pigs. I’m left at a standstill now and can’t decide. Rats are more intelligent and affectionate like a dog but can’t be kept in an open enclosure like how Guinea pigs can be kept in. Rats are so intelligent, but so much so that they are great escape artists. Also, Rats only live for about two years and that seems a tad too short, especially since they need to be kept in groups, and when introducing new Guinea pigs to replace one that has past away, if you want a baby or younger Guinea pig, you need to introduce two of them together so they will have a companion in their same age group while adjusting to being included to a new home with older piggies. So even though they have short life spans, keeping them as a group turns into an almost endless cycle of commitment. Guinea pigs on the other hand can be kept in an a more open enclosure, and live longer (3-4 years), but seem skittish and like little mindless eating machines. I can’t decide because I want my favorite parts of both rats and Guinea pigs rolled into one but the aspects I like about one, the other doesn’t have. Until I decide, I’ll just keep watching more meat RUclips videos.
It’s definitely a tough decision! I would say Guinea pigs usually live longer than that too - more like 5-8 years. I’ve had some Guinea pigs that are friendly and some that are more skittish, maybe if you adopt from a rescue you could inquire about finding some that are interested in human affection.
Stardust is SO BEAUTIFUL!! Just BEAUTIFUL!! How's her weight?! Bless them, they're ALL PRECIOUS, I LOVE SEEING THEM ALL!! MARSHMALLOW IS A PERFECT NAME FOR YOUR LONG HAIRED PIGGY, AND THEY ALL LOOK SO HAPPY AND HEALTHY! You should potentially start a small rescue, MAYBE in the future, if you have other's for support, like other piggy owners, vet techs, whatever, you're great with multi tasking and organization! I feel like there aren't enough small animal, or guinea pig and rabbit ones. The beds you have are so nice, I know they're probably from the Pig Room, because I saw a haul video once, and I love the pastel colours and flowery fleece patterns. Your cages do look great, nice video!
Hi Autumn , which ones are morning gps, who come to the front when you call them. As opposed to those who ignore you and hide to keep on sleeping? Topping up hay. Throwing hay, on top of a pile of hay? Does it get old?
Awesome vid! Just wondering how offen do u have to deep clean a cage. And how long would u say only the morning cage clean takes when u had only two piggies? :)
Yes Zoe is right! I full clean once a week. With two piggies a spot clean will take probably 15 minutes and a full clean maybe an hour until you get into a routine
@@autumngrace. ok Auttumn tysm Edit: let's say I cleaned the cage full in the evening yesterday would I still have to spot clean in the morning? (Just wondering don't have piggies yet but getting piggies hopefully soon. Wanted to know how long a spit clean would take if I had to wake up for school.)
Heyautumn im 10 years old and I have 3 Guinea pigs and they have a 3 by 4 cand c cage times 2 an Lennon. And squeaks do not get a long so I just move nugget ever other. Day is that ok
Does your room smell at all bc of the Guinea pigs? Bc I’m about to get two and if they smell in my room then I’m gonna put them in my guest room instead.
You probably won’t see this but I lost one of my Guinea pigs 2 days ago. I was wondering how I could help my other pig cope with the loss. I love my Guinea pigs very much and wish for them to be happy. I hope you respond. ❤
I separated my guinea pigs and one doesn't like the other so that's why we did so. But the one who doesn't like the other one keeps chewing on the cage to try and get to the other one. What does that mean?
Probably just means they want to get back to the other one to prove dominance again, which could be violent. Sometimes they chew because they want to live together sometimes they chew because they wish to display dominance over the other.
@@autumngrace. WHAT A PRECIOUS LITTLE PIGGY! I wish I had one that had her personality, I do have one that's similar, but she won't pancake that way! My oldest piggy trusts me totally though, but she's an Abby, so they're a little feisty, lol!
hii im not autumn but in a video she made she said u must bond them it seems that males fight so u need to bond them and then u need a 60-40-50 size cage i go not have a ginea pig but i do my reserch and then when bonded u can put them in thnat cage !! good luck hope this will help
u can see im not autumn either but the first reply is correct, you must bond males otherwise they can be very aggressive/dominant which can lead to fights and injury. id recommend watching videos on bonding males, there are some very informative ones on youtube, and also if theres a rescue near you they would probably be able to give good advice. also im not sure what measurements are for the first reply but i presume inches, an easy way to make sure their cage is big enough is by giving them a 2x5 c and c cage. just make sure you do enough research before you get them. good luck and i hope everything goes well!

I think a hole video about what satin syndrome is and what the symptoms and treatment are, would be a great information to share with everyone.

I believe she deep cleans once a week and spot cleans/replaces any soiled bedding & fleece daily. She has a cleaning video on her channel 💗

They do smell but I have an air purifier which helps filter the smell out
