Would be a good spot for a kill switch too. I'm doing this to my 87 K5 when I replace the tank. Thanks.

It’s very useful, especially if you use your truck.

I did the same thing last year on my K5 after having to drop the tank a few times. I have the same tank for my 79 as well. Carb to TBI TO MSD Atomic FI.

Seems like kind of a cheap cover. Certainly there was some kind of billet aftermarket fuel door or even making a cleaner cut out of the floor and refabing a door out of it. Just my opinion no judgement.
    You rockin killer builds.

Thanks for the comments. I’m not aware of a billet or more flush option without making it ourselves. And that might be an option in the future but for now this’ll do.

It's not a big deal that you cut through that cross-member?

I was a little hesitant to cut there but I needed the access. The floor still feels solid so I’m not worried, but if I end up needing to add any support, you’ll see it here on the channel.
