She has never looked better and she has never sounded better. She in GORGEOUS and she sounds HEAVENLY, she is out of this world, i simply admire and adore her! ♡
Finland is (probably) the only country in the world where you can enjoy metal in a seated concert hall and wear a suit like you're going to a opera. Not to mention this was broadcasted on christmas during prime time. It's cool how metal is treated with the same divinity as classical music. I'm glad to live in a country where (almost) everybody loves metal.
IMO parts of metal music, like Jazz music, became art music - not always the highest level, but operetta and sometimes opera are not, too - both genres are also entertaining genres and very popular songs are taken from operas and operettas. But I think today there is often no need to wear a suit neither for opera nor for metal concerts as long as it is not a special event. btw, I wear my boots also in opera - feet problems ;)

Maybe in the future as Tarja gets older they will start to match.
At the age of 20 (Concert "From Wishes to Eternity), Tarja had a vibrato befitting of a Light Lyric Soprano. Around 2003, after attending Karlsruhe University and under guidance from acclaimed Japanese Mezz-Soprano, Mitsuko Shirai, Tarja's voice grew into a Lyric Spinto Soprano.
To uncultured swine, and those with shit in their ears in general (like you), a dark voice would sound like a stretched vibrato. Alas, we can't all be blessed with the knowledge to make a condescending tone equal to knowledge known. Don't worry, you'll eventually reach my level.

Oh noes, she used her current artistic style decorations a few times in this song, really clearly couple of times in the beginning and once near the end. She shouldn't, that's not beautiful at all. This still came quite beautifully.

@@soukainasahar Nothing to do with her chest voice. And I love her chest voice, but I don't like these artistic moans she does.
@@Aurinkohirvi Why has she actually shifted to more contemporary sound? I think her strength is in her head voice, not so much in her chest voice. I prefer Tarja for more classical sound and Floor for more contemporary sound, although both can do both things.
@@Ministry_0f_Truth I don't agree, I think her chest voice was great. But yeah she is more known of the head voice. I don't know, I definately do like more of her classical and Christmas songs singing style than her rock albums' style.
They changed the style she sings in Century Child album, and ever since there's been less vibrato and this more contemporary style singing mixed with the classical style. She doesn't try to sound beautiful in her rock album songs, it's more about the feelings, and she sometimes uses shortly this what I call moaning, and I don't fancy it.
Tarja also told in a stream that her voice colour is usually now different from her early NW era, because her classical singing has improved (and yeah I agree she is better singing classical now).
I do like a lot for example "Love to Hate" in London Metropolis, so I'm not saying that she can't sing that style well.

Because operatic soprano doesn't need chest voice. The sound is created in throat and head.
Original version sounds more magical,at least to me personally.

Tarja on minusta kans paras Nightwishn laulaja, mutta oon myös iloinen että Floor on bändissä, vaikka Floorin parhaita biisejä hänen uraltaan tulevat mun mielestä hänen aikaisemmista bändeistä After Foreveristä ja ReVampista. Molemmat on silti aivan huikeita laulajia. ❤

She can but she insists for some reason to use her chest voice which is harsh
I try, but i can't enjoy this performance. The one from Nightwish is the classical for me.
I like more operatic version better too, and without the artistic decorations she uses there a few times, but still enjoying this.

Tarja has flaws and weaknesses that not all metal fans initially noticed.NW made her sound good.After her resignation she has not reached the same level.Fans must settle for old records
