Thanks for calling what this is a “face lift”. Many car journalist keep calling it “new”.
Though after watching your video I would say more appropriate to call this at best an “update”

Probably not everyone like the brown nappa seat colour instead change to boring colour grey and black combination which Malaysian prefer because of easy to take care and the interior won't look dirty. Only disappointed they downgraded the headlight from LED projector to LED reflector.

Very telling that geely is treating proton like a step child. Old obsolete engine no longer in use in china, old design when the new boyue has been out since 2022. It was a bad move to go with geely when there are better companies like BYD or even chery

I would like to ask the age old question, is the 3 cylinder engine as reliable as 4 cylinder engine with the current technology that Proton created?
No offense but I still doubt about it bcus when i went to my mearest proton showroom and asked them this question they couldn't give me a sure fire answer which is why i feel this way now. Any X50 or X70 with 3 cyclinder experienced drivers help a bro out?

Would love to see a drivealong of u tackling those types of steep banks in a more "premium suspension and comfort" car.
The footage here shows that the car and passengers does shake around so seeing a comparison would be really cool.
Also to comment on the front end, ive always been allergic to oversized grills and the headlight design seems like its simply not enough. Maybe can take some pointers from Subaru or Peugeot.

This is not a 7 years old car, in fact its chassis is more than 20 years old based on reverse engineering of 2nd gen Toyota Rav4. That's why the absurdly high boot height, extremely small boot opening (smaller than Honda Jazz) for a C segment suv like this. Well, that's how China car clever in packaging their car with tonnes of features, give them modern design, add in a lot of insulation to make the NVH nice. All of these don't need lots of expertise and R&D. People don't remember the fundamentals of a car is Powertrain (Engine+Transmission) and Chassis. You're looking at a 20 years old outdated chassis, 3 cylinder engine which was rejected in China market and the body that have questionable safety.

@@billaak417 of course no one will mention this, come on, in Malaysia if any media dare to talk about the truth (not talk bad), you know the consequences right? You'll be no longer invited to their event or any drive. In fact, your media company will be blacklisted. Don't forget how big is DRB Hicom in Malaysia. Most of the car reviews in Malaysia are praises n singing all along without pointing at the elephant of the room. I'm just saying do your own due diligence about the product that you're buying. China Car reviewers really bought the car on their own n do a thorough review and tear down to look at every aspect possible, praises where it is good and condemn where it is bad. Plus they do a 100000km after usage review too. Here we see just get the car for 2 to 3 days and give it a so called review.

@@limdavid8287 true sir. Very true. But however, can they sensor RUclips? Someone need to step in and expose these scandals. We can get better and more quality products. Kudos sir. Your comment was an eye opener. I won't regret this.

The same way Apple make their smartphone 😅. Old ideas but apple fan hype up like crazy coz Apple is clever doing this type of shit 😂. Then, sell it for unimaginable expensive price 🤷‍♂️. But you know what people still buy it 😊.
