Ah yes, a movie where the writers don't know how to move the plot forward, so the protagonist unexpectedly receives information from others. Who wrote "the bank of the dead (arrow)" on the floor? Magic! How did Sophie know that Paul can use his powers to create door? Magic!
The writing was obviously the Goblin Husband/Father turned stapler, but Sophie knowing about the door powers is just stupid.
How come he was able to access those doors without the towel near the end?

It especially doesn't make sense since he could just travel to one of those extremely isolated places he went to before in the movie and toss or bury the towel there. Or even just destroy the powerful item if they don't want anyone to use it again.

there is a story a little like this that have to female leads. One of the girls have red hair and green eyes, the other have blonde hair and blue eyes. The ginger can open a portal to anywhere, and uses that to steal, her moral compass if she ever had it, is very broken. She cares only for herself and having fun.
The blond is the opposite. She can fly, heal people buy touch and can feel the emotions of anyone nearby
