I honestly don’t think its what any of you are talking about. I believe it’s how she is personally. Never met her upfront but I’ve been in the same room with her before at the taping of “Bring the Funny” she was rude to the people in the audience. She had a lot of attitude towards her own fans who loved her from the show “Insecure” her energy wasn’t pleasant. I’ve heard many other people who’ve said the same thing about her personality. It’s like she’s for “us” but then act like she can’t stand to be around “us” I think that’s what’s being called out. It contradicts her activism.
Agreed. If you don't agree with her, she will shut you down. And if you try to correct her, which has been done on several occasions like with her saying the man was a rapist and with Tamir Rice's mother, she will double down and then cry victim. There is conflation of her wanting to be right all the time and be liked too. Here's the thing, people don't HAVE to work with you and they've chosen not to work with Amanda. That's no different than her male counterparts, like Dr. Umar and others.

Questioning why someone would say you're full of hubris and then going on to tell people you love them enough to make up for them not loving themselves is a special edition level of self-absorbed. Al made the best point and unfortunately Claudia missed the mark here. You cannot berate people into believing in you or your cause, even if your cause is wholeheartedly in their best interest. That is simply not how leadership works. Leadership is demonstrated in exercising discipline and strategy with what you're passionate about. Enough so that you successfully apply your passion to a problem and SHOW people a path forward through the challenge. Not tell. Show. Not yell. Motivate. Not whine. Inspire. Amanda has a place in the community. Her raw, unfiltered passion for our betterment is amazing, but she has alot of work to do to transform into the leader that she's deluded herself into believing she already is.

A mom and dad with 3 kids a house both gainfully employed that take care of their responsibility. Who are good all around people to their community and family, are losers because the choose not to travel?. This shows one thing that’s a fact humans will disappoint. What else should people do get pets, have children and go vegan… these Are ALL personal choices. There are more productive ways to teach your community on how to grow. Maybe start with a in state trip or understand why they don’t want to travel. I think Amanda’s heart is in the right place and she should not be canceled because she is not hurting the community. However, Discipline without empathy is disrespectful. Your joy is yours, we do not have the right to choose other folks joy!

I beg to differ, and I'm not quite sure what your experience has been since you are not what many would consider to be Black. Standing up for her community and ethnicity should always leave her feeling empowered and accomplished. She was right to address the articles. They are clearly intimidated by her arrogance and intellect, and that's their problem, not hers! She's young, gifted, and black! She's multicult and educated. You wouldn't tell a white person not to be proud of who they are, so don't tell a black person that she needs to be balanced. She's biracial, so she is balanced!

I like Amanda Seals. That being said, I agree totally with Armon. What you like is not what everyone likes and as a community we must respect that. What you see as fun and status traveling to exotic places around the world, someone else may say "Naw, that's not my thing." I know one girl with a passport, tons of frequent flier miles and job networking connections in different countries all over, but she told me she actually hates traveling and actually loves being at home a whole lot. I know someone else who never sees their house because they like to travel all the time. And believe it or not I have a neighbor who is almost always outside. I mean outside all the time. I told him one day "It's raining, why are you outside? Why are you always outside? It's weird!" He smiled and said "That's just me, I love bring outside all the time. That's when I checked myself and realize what I like may not be what other people like. So I agree with Armon that Amanda was wrong. Maybe a person prefers their limited edition sneakers more than traveling to Spain. That doesn't make them less intelligent. And if that makes them happy who are we to judge. I'd rather Spain, but that is me and not them and I respect their choices and preferences.

I feel like Amanda is great in certain spaces. Like I loved her on the Real because she came up in there to me showed the difference in what they were calling Real and what is really REAL. I actually like Amanda Seals, esp. during her Amanda Diva days. But Armon is speaking truth, not facts, but truth.
I'm with Al and Armon this one. Her fighting for black rights is not the reason people don't like her. This is the same woman that got kicked out from a party because host didn't mess with her and she decided to go on live and try to make it about a white woman not letting her in just to have one of her costars call her out for her nasty attitude. You can't have bold and conversional statements and expect people to want to be around you. When it comes to black issues sometimes it is right to be bold and direct, but you have to also be willing to teach (unfortunately) without being condescending and on 10.
She is an entertainer and hence has a brand. She is off putting to alot of people, including some people she works with. I dont necessarily see it as unfair. When she was on The Real, she would sometimes roll her eyes when the other ladies are talking and speak over them. She is definitely thoughtful in her insights but it doesnt make her nasty attitude okay. I feel like she can dish it but cant take it.

Amanda Seales speaks at times but she gets hate because she thinks it's ok to rebuttal other ppl opinions, but gets triggered when ppl do the same to her. She will be in comments going back and forth with ppl, if a man did that we be talking about his ego smh
I love Amanda but she annoys me. She wanna be hollywood without being hollywood. She talks down on hollywood and black Hollywood and still wants to be invited to events. Yes they hire you to host because you're a good host. But they don't wanna kick it with you. Thats unfortunate but it is what it is. She clearly doesn't have friends in this industry, she must just rub people the wrong way. Idk. Best wishes to her!
I will agree that she is an acquired taste but that does not take away from her ability to be honest and intentional with her opinions especially when it comes to black people operating in spaces that we generally don't operate in because they don't think we belong there. My mother taught me decades ago not to care about other people's opinions, and that stuck with me. As long as Amanda keeps that attitude, she will be just fine. As you know, social media is a powerful tool, and when people want to come after you, they gas light you through social media. It was a personal vendetta, and I'm glad that she spoke up for herself.
@@pcwash1974 and it's great you don't care about others opinions. But Amanda acts as if she cares and that she needs to be validated. If you have strong options you have to accept that others with also have options. She seems bothered.

Amanda has every right to be frustrated given that the media outlets that "represent" the community she's uplifting are trying to tear her down. You may not like her being so outspoken or her delivery, but that doesn't mean what she's saying is wrong or she shouldn't have a voice. It's no coincidence that all this criticism is coming out as she's speaking strongly for a ceasefire in Gaza / against the genocide.
AL, I agree with you 100%. I am giving my honest opinion about Claudia and l am not brown nosing. She is beautiful, she is talented, she is very innovative. She has had amazing opportunities because of the above. But You know what her industry flaw is. She respects herself, she is honest, she has integrity, she is going to stand up for what is right. Which is a great thing, but not for the industry.For example during her tenure on Real housewives of atlanta, she could have sat quietly and been obedient to nene leakes. Her integrity/humanity made her speak out and defend the girls when she had that fight with nene. Clearly, claudia is not one to go with something she knows is wrong just for money or fame. Correct me if i’m wrong. I don’t know her, I am just providing feed back on what I saw in past. Don’t compromise who you are ever for a check. You are setting a positive example for the world 🌎.
