Vince Neil has had over 3 years to try and improve his performance. What happened to the band getting a nutritionist and physical trainer even before the stadium tour? It's like he doesn't care and is just phoning it in... oh wait, that would sound better.
Saw them for $65 (ticket was given to me for free), GA at a festival this summer. Played a full 1 hour plus set. I expected them to completely suck, but between a third of the show relying on highlighting John 5's guitar playing, and all the backing tracks, it sounded good, and was passable. Not the embarrassing shit-show that I was anticipating ( and sort of hoping for). Vince had a better performance than this clip. I imagine it all depends on whether he managed to get his ass out of the bucket of KFC before the show.
Yeah but I mean these dudes are in their 60s. Gotta set your expectations. Not everyone can be a Mick Jagger and keep up the energies, nor should everyone even try that. Not many bands are able to age gracefully, most of these 80s bands seem to try and recapture their 20s which is just weird. Robert Plant route is a better avenue imo, change your music as you grow older. Vince's singing seems to have improved actually from few years ago and I had been hearing about the playback accusations so much that I was surprised it was the real deal.
I agree with you that younger artist are not getting the exposure needed, and the older bands just don't sound the same. You're better off going to see their cover band.
Agreed. I'd rather see younger bands given people's attention than this mess. Motley Crue should have called it a day after Dr. Feelgood, and in 2024 they're still around and no one is the better for it.
They don't have Mick, you gotta have Mick, they're only so so. Yeah, 200+ a ticket in our wonderful suck ass economy definitely ain't worth it! Yeah, Blackrain, Crashdiet, Hardcore Superstar, and definitely Reckless Love (one of the best around, best ever) all need more promotion.
What also surprises me is there doesn’t seem to be much for effects on his vocals currently. There was more in his prime live by far. Not worth a 20 to me to fuel their lifestyle

Yes. You can say “I saw Motley Fucking Crue!!!”
