Day 0:
The week kicked off with an opening party hosted by Andrew Yeung and Blindspot at the Lumos House. I enjoyed the time getting to connect with so many talented and ambitious people in such a unique environment. Shoutout to Andrew and Jacob for always delivering top notch events!
Day 1:
I first learned about the cross section of #ai and #fintech at PomPom Fairy’s panel. The conversation included Philip A. Benyola, Jr., the Director of Private Equity at Bessemer Trust (and fellow Gator 🐊), and Jeanniey Walden, the CMO of RITE AID sharing their insights on how AI has and will continue to transform how they approach their responsibilities. Thank you to Jeremy Goldman and Amelia Tran for hosting!
Next up I headed south to La Victoria to attend Hustle Fund’s fireside chat with Anthony Pompliano. Pomp is an entrepreneur, investor, and lifelong learner with more than 1.6M fans on X. 💻 Pomp shared his story of relentless entrepreneurship and provided ample motivation for us all to crush our days! 👊🏻
Day 2:
I started the afternoon with a lunch at the Dell Technologies NYC HQ with the Dell For Startups and NVIDIA Inception teams learning about all of their AI capabilities. A major thank you to YJ Lin for putting together an incredible afternoon!
Later in the evening I attended the Nasdaq HQ for a series of fireside chats about generative AI. They had a great panel of founders building in AI:
Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO of Luma AI
Edo Liberty, founder and CEO of Pinecone
+ Marjorie Janiewicz, the U.S. GM of Mistral AI
The chat was moderated by Guido Appenzeller, partner at Andreessen Horowitz 🖥️
The night ended at the Venture Virality party hosted by one of my first podcast guests, Brett Perlmutter, and Bulletpitch. ⏰
Day 3:
The day started off with a panel hosted by The Fourth Effect focused on how and why founders should build a strong board. I learned a lot about the founder’s thought process when building a board and am excited to bring back this insight to my Director Advisory Services team at J.P. Morgan. Thank you to Katrin de Haën for making that happen!
Later I attended the Techstars Atlanta demo day. It was incredible to hear about the impact of the #techstars program and hear the pitches of their recent cohort.
Then the night capped off with a rooftop happy hour hosted by Entre! It was great to meet so many founders and investors in such a fun environment. A major thank you to Michael Marra for hosting!
Day 4:
The evening of events started off with celebrating Atlassian's new offering of products for early-stage companies at their (very cool) NYC office space! 📣
🍦 After a quick ice cream cone courtesy of Rho, the night was capped off by the Tech x Games mixer hosted by A16Z GAMES at an incredible rooftop. Here I got to meet some amazing founders, investors and creators that will play a pivotal role in defining how we socialize, play, and work over the next century.
A major thank you to the Andreessen Horowitz team and specifically Katia Ameri and Andrew Chen for all of the work they put in to make TECH WEEK by a16z such a massive success! The future of the #NYCtech and VC ecosystem is in good hands! 🤝 🌃
