Action 4: Image Quality by Night

After the previous videos tests, this time I put the DJI Action 4 under pressure, starting at sunset and returning late at night. I also use Gyroflow to snag a few more pixels of resolution where possible and Davinci ResolveTemporal Denoiser along with NeatVideo Denoiser to limit the high ISO noise. Unexpectedly I also discover a limitation in night-time use.
Will it be worth it in the end?

Did you brighten up the image when there's no light? I think even with a 1" sensor it wouldn't be any better 🤣And it still has the stabilization jitters like the Gopro. But there's less noise with the DA4 even with iso at 3200 than compared to my gopro footage, that's interesting. Looks good when you turn the light on, and the denoiser did a pretty good job cleaning the image! I think it could perform a bit better during the sunset though, the shadows look really dark 1:14 🤔

Just a slight gamma and shadow adjustment to keep the noise under control. Yes with long exposure times there is stabilization jittering, but that's unavoidable in such conditions without a mechanical stabilizer. In this case Action4 or GoPro it's the same, it's just a technical issue due to the software stabilization, internal or Gyroflow doesn't matter much. 1/25 shutter speed means a lot of jittering, actions cameras are not really designed to be used at night, but we love doing so because we can 😄. And yes, at 3200 ISO there is no much noise, so a denoiser can be used to keep the image quality under control (more or less). In the first and latter part of the video i used a mild temporal denoising technique using the native Resolve denoiser, but in the middle part of the video i used NeatVideo, it allows for finer tuning over the noise detection and allows better results in critical situations. Or maybe it's me not being so good at using Resolve denoiser, don't know. Anyway, i'm overall satisfied by the quality until the sunset.

Diciamo che si, da smartphone ok. Poi se guardi su grande schermo ridimensioni un po'. Sicuramente hai una base di partenza migliore di quanto ti darebbe GoPro nelle medesime condizioni. Personalmente non butterei la GoPro, ha anche lei i suoi punti di forza.

Hello Can you make some videos of city scenes, roads, residential areas, test the parameters from action 4, and which parameters shoot best and beautifully. No need to edit from a 3rd app! thank you

This is mainly a mountain channel, if i can test a camera while trekking i'd be happy to but shooting residential areas is not much in target. Will see what i can do on this regard.
