Hunting for Meteorites in Sweden

- Metal detecting the world famous Meteorite strewn field of Muonionalusta in northern Sweden. After two days of meteorite hunting, exploration and camping we made many interesting finds in the forests of Lapland. The muonionalusta is an iron-nickel meteorite that came down roughly a million years ago. It disintegrated in the sky and rained down over a wide 15x25 km strewn field area. We are looking for meteorites using a wide range of metal detectors and digging deep holes in the forest looking for valuable meteorite space rock. The meteorite we are searching is in Sweden very close to the border to Finland, near the village of kitkiöjärvi. Gold mask, minelab and garrett detectors are used for hunting meteorites.

Cheers brother, it's my birthday watching True Vikings and having a drink.
Happy birthday Brother! Hope you had a good one 👍
Half of the fun of watching you guys is because of your cool accents! We just have average American accents here in Illinois. 😉
Bog iron?
Hogwash!
Starrocks for sure!
Your enthusiasm is always amazing to watch. No matter what you find we always enjoy
Thank you Nathaniel
great video guys! keep em coming HOT!!
Thanks Pomzy! Will do
Nice and interesting video as always. But I wonder if it would not be handy to connect the two strings of the detectorframe with a strap. And hang the strap over your shoulders. So you could carry the frame like a yoke?
That's a good idea and we tried it out a couple times, it always ended in us ignoring the yoke and carrying the frame with our hands instead. The frame itself is lightweight so it's quite easy to carry around and you get more control over it when navigating the terrain. Thanks for your comment Wilfred!
1:30 the correct pronunciation would be "sweet odin's ravens"
And those were huge nails
Your offsider looked more enthusiastic this time around, You pay him? keep up the good work mate I'm sure there is a lump of nickel-iron out there awaiting your gentle touch.
Thanks hard yakka. Offsiders are paid with our amazing company 😂
@@TrueVikings So in other words they are robbed?
You could say that 😂
@@TrueVikings He did appeear to be more willing to be burdened. I wish you all luck in your quest. There just has to be one out there that has been overlooked. Being erradica distrubed by a melting glacier must make it hard to find.
Where did your other two friends from the previous videos go? Has anyone else seen them?
Vast forests out there! Haha they will be back in future videos don't worry :)
Have you ever been in Denmark (Sjælland) for metaldetecting ?😃
I have some great spots, if you guys one day consider vissit Denmark (Sjælland)
Hey Frederik, Yes we have visited Denmark for metal detecting in the past. We have been in Bornholm and Thy regions (check out our denmark video playlist). We would love to come back to Denmark some day for some metal detecting once the pandemic blows over. Sjaelland is within driving distance from Finland and Sweden so it could be arranged with some planning! Feel free to drop us an email on thetruevikings@gmail.com if you feel like discussing further :)
It was not bog iron. This is salty spot on fireplace. Lots of those over there.
It might very well be, thanks Dmitry!
Did you see the meteor over Norway last friday? TRUE viking country ;)
Did not see that one unfortunately. :)
Hope you guys can find a piece ! Recently ordered a Zelos Mako meteorite. It's made with a piece of this exact meteorite!
Thanks Thomas. That is a damn nice watch. Had to google a pic. 👍
when you turn on your Garrett carrot, have it touching the soil, as it tuns on - that will ground balance it first...then hunt
That is a good tip jim 👍
Leikattua konjakkia= Jallu= nam.
Kyllä 👍
All the best guys, but it is getting tiresome watching the same content. 👍🏻
Are you sure those were bullet holes and not meteorite holes?? 3.5% that's almost not even worth drinking to get drunk. You'd be all bloated before you caught a good enough buzz.
Yes, 3.5% is just useless. Don't know what happened to the swedes. ;)
