- Medical Care in the Philippines Baby Mae Rushed into The Emergency Room!@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 Early today Baby Mae was rushed to the emergency room, come along to get a glimpse of medical care in the Philippines
How about "Daddy Paul" ....sounds even more creepy!!!!!!
Let's be honest, if Daddy Paul were rich and famous would you have a problem or even mention it? It's not so much the name as the symbolism implied.
Not creepy at all!!!That is a term of respect and being grateful
@@MarkJohnson-yr8yt Yes Mark your right….
@@Ron-rk6iz angry much?
@@Ron-rk6iz Haha! Ohhhh I see! After a few days of getting flak, NOW it's normal. Good damage control from your earlier negative comment.
Great she's okay. It's amazing how reasonable the Philippines is in terms of health care costs. I had food poisoning there I got two IVs and some medication. It was state of the art hospital with immediate Care by three or four nurses whenever I needed them. All I could think was oh my God this is going to cost me at least $5 to 6k. The doctor comes to me and says we don't take US Insurance you're going to have to settle it when you get back to the States. I said all right give me the damage. It was 5,000 pesos $100!!! Cost me more to file the insurance papers then to try to get the $100 back from my insurance company. I love the Philippines and the healthcare is exceptional and the healthcare facilities are exceptional. The immediate attention from the nurses was the greatest part of the stay.
cost me 5k go too er in ky. meds 250 usd.
Great health care COD
Philippines does have great nurses and doctors. Philippines does supply the world with Nurses😊
They are wonderful care workers in nursing homes.
Blessed Baby Mae is well….great friends…..God bless you all
I had to go to emergency room at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center (FL, USA) in the middle of the night, a few months ago. Like Mae it was because of an unknown allergic reaction. They gave me an injection and oral medication, followed by for a couple of hours of observation. Then released me with a 5 day prescription for oral meds.
Good thing we have good medical insurance and have met all our deductibles. Together the bills from the hospital, doctor and the prescription only cost me around $540 USD (equiv. 27,000 PHP).
Without insurance it would’ve been over $2,600 USD (equiv. 130,000+ PHP).
50 bucks doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me.
I wish Mae a speedy recovery!
I will say a prayer for her full recovery.
Good friends are irreplaceable. I’m happy everything worked out!
Poor baby. No fun getting sick. Thank God for good nurses and doctors, not to mention affordable healthcare!
Glad she is ok. You might want to make an appointment with a Doctor/allergist to figure out what caused this. Allergies can get worse with time and repeated exposure. There is a test where they put tiny amounts of various allergen's on the skin to see what she reacts to. This way she will know what to avoid.
He may also be able to get an epipen or its equivalent. If she has a reaction, she can use the epipen to reduce the symptoms and buy her time to get to a hospital. Epipens are a bit pricy, several hundred USD, but its better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it...
It was also happened to my daughter few years ago...doc do some allergy test and it came out she is allergy to prawn and cockroaches. So terrible. She is taking anti histamine for few years. But now no more trigger...cos she is not eating it anymore. And my house no more roaches...when she dine in a resto she carefully ask if the food has prawn ingredients before she order it...
Excellent information!
Glad you think so!
Happy to hear Mae is feeling better. Of course listening to your storytelling is always a real treat. Yes Paul most people do not realize how badly they are being ripped off back in the USA. That's not just healthcare. Healthcare in Cebu is very reasonable as well. Thanks for the great video and info for viewers.
First, fear upon discovery and realization of her poor condition, then nerve-wracking fear and uncertainty as you get her to the hospital, then anxiety as you wait, and then, finally, sweet relief as Mae responds to treatment. Both of you have really been through the wringer.
Take it easy for a bit as she recovers - so gratified to know she's on the mend.
Thank you for sharing.
So, happy Mae is ok, and thank you for the eye-opening video, Paul. You and Mae are the paradigm of the relationship we all wish we had. You sir are one of my favorite vloggers because of the sincerity and humility you bring to your videos. With your posts many viewers, myself included, get an epiphany of your life in the Philippines. Someday (pandemic permitting) I can experience "my bliss" as the country reopens. Again, so happy you guys are well.
Thanks so much
Boil up some chicken parts with onion. Leek. Pepper salt for about 2 hours. The broth you get is nutritious and easily digestible. BMay to have it 3 times a day. Old grandma recipie for the sick.
I second that. Paul cracks me up with his view on life. AWESOME
What a beautiful story. 👍👍
Concur completely
I am glad she is on the mend, best wishes for the both of you
Prayers to Baby Mae and you from Tennessee. Be safe and take care
Your are a great storyteller. Glad things worked out with Baby Mae.
GOD bless her and you Paul. I wish her a speedy recovery!
I am happy that Mae was well taken care and is back healthy now. Hearing your story I am also glad we have 1669 health emergency number all over Thailand if we need emergency assistance to get someone to the hospital. Just be aware that you may ask someone local to phone as language may be an issue in some area.
Thanks for sharing. Im happy things worked out good for everyone. Few people you can trust and count on nowadays
Very true!
Glad to hear things are going well and hoping for a swift recovery for Mae. That purse comment at 9:14 was a perfect tension reliever. Take care of each other, brother.
Great Video Paul Glad that you took care of Mae. We know she's your life & partner. Hoping the best for you two 💞
Wonderful. You are blessed with a caring and beautiful woman.
So glad Babe Mae is doing good hope it don't take long for her to heal good luck
This is "exactly" the kind of info expats or those thinking of residing in the Phillipines need.
Agreed! Because most are older and Hey! Us smart older guys worry about stuff. Like health care and insurance. Me, I think when I go back am getting a Phil-Am health card. Was $40 something USD per month!
God bless you both Paul
Good video Paul, hope it all works out well, for May !! And the newest fashion plate!!
Thanks 👍
Nice story glad your accessorising worked out so well fun story, Anaphaxis a severe allergic reaction, responds to meds well but you need to know what she ate, or if she was out in nature what plant she may have touched or brushed past so she knows what to avoid in future. Next time may not be as lucky.
Very glad it worked out with Baby Mae. That must of been scary. All the best to the both of you. God Bless.

Glad she is better. Fantastic prices for what she received. Elvis used to tell me, "Takin’ care of business." And you took care of her. Good job.

Baby Mae... We are all praying for you and wish you well soon. Very happy to hear things turned out good at the hospital.
Blessing Paul, glad baby Mae is going to be ok, but I'm still praying for the both of you. May God bless and keep you two.
WOW. Poor thing!!!! I'm sure she was freaking out. You had the voice of reason and responsibility, I'm glad she agreed to go to the hospital. Glad she is responding to the meds and feeling better. Wow Paul, she needs to try to figure out what might have caused that reaction!! I know she doesn't want any more of that. Take care of her, I know you will. Be Happy Be Safe.
You tell a great story , I think I will subscribe ! I hope may recovers well !!
Your wife is a very tough lady. I am delighted to know she is recovering.
So glad all is well. Prayers to all
Pray she is doing well. Take good care of her as I know you will.
I hope she gets well soon 😊, praying for her 😊🙏
Glad to hear Baby Mae is OK!
Glad to hear Paul and baby Mae was so strong. Proper accessories are important. 🤣
Glad you got Baby Mae to the hospital. Kudos to Gary for being there for you, he is a good friend. Speedy recovery to Baby Mae. Maybe she will let you borrow her purse sometimes, as an accessory... 😆. Funny ending. Keep On Keeping On!
That was awesome thank you for all the info. My Fiance is I'm the Phillipines I'm waiting on the country to open up to foreigners so I can finally see her. We have been face timing twice a day on facebook messenger for over 2 years. Once I see her I hope to bring her and her 2 daughters to America. But I love the info for the future and possible retirement.
You should keep Benadryl around the house many times if you take it at the first sign of an allergic reaction and you can stop it before it gets worse.
Thank god baby Mae is ok 🙏🏻. And yes please talk to her the importance of waking you up for those type of emergencies
Be well Baby Mae.
Many prayers to your family brother Paul.
Much appreciated
Yes. Self insuring is a good idea and being color coordinated doesn't hurt anything either. This is such a frightening story. Thank God Baby Mae is getting better.🕯️
Thank God that Mae is alright. Real friends are worth their weight in gold.
Thank god she is ok Paul. Get some rest Baby Mae. I hope you’re feeling better. 😊
So glad Mae is recovering!
Great video Paul. I'm glad Babe Mae is feeling much better. And I'm very happy for you that you were able to accessorize properly on the spur of the moment. :-)
Paul u r a great story teller. Glad Mae is OK. Yes have that talk w/Mae. 😊
Thanks so much
I was a bad boy and went to the comments....was ready to send some prayers-Glad you both are well! I dig the comfy looking shirt. Purse with shoes...lol Shirt and couch cover also Paul!
Thanks so much
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 Always Welcome Brother....while on my trail run a bit later....will give a shout out....for a good speedy recovery as no doubt many others have also!
fast recovery god bless
Hoping Mae is back to normal soon. I really enjoy your humor and optimistic outlook in the midst of this potentially serious event. You're right about good friends. They are more valuable than gold.
Paul and of course the wonderful Baby Mae,
I am so very thankful Mae is ok, glory be to god to watch over and give strength to all of us (even @ronpijman) .
Filipina's aren't the same as western women (thank goodness) they are cut from a different cloth and all in a good way, the funny, energetic, dancing, cooking and loving Mrs Baby Mae will be back to her usual self in no time and I for one am looking forward to that.
Thanks for sharing Paul,
MarknLily
Good to hear Baby Mae is good to go. Yes, pre-covid trip to Davao I got a miserable sinus infection. I was surprised when done the cost of doctor, lab work, and prescription, was about $75. My copay would have been more back here in the states. Seem Healthcare in the states is akin to hiway robbery.
OMGEEE! Poor Baby Mae. Also Paul, you made a good point, you could only have a bad cold or the flu and now you're in the hospital and THEN you catch Cov-19 because its all up in the hospital, waiting for you to breathe it in. You are smart to try to stay away unless it is a true emergency. Which it was! Sounds scary, so glad she is going to be ok. And glad your health is good, too. Stay safe there, guys! 🥰
Im
Happy all is good with Baby Mae, good that u have a friend there to help too. What did u do so u can stay so long in Philippines, Paul? U and Baby Mae are lucky to have eachother. She is a pretty lady
Thanks Paul 🌹
One of the biggest blessings of living here is the affordable heath care as well as friends willing to drop everything to help in times of need. Prayers for Baby Mae. Did the doctors say what it was that caused this?
AMAZING
My thoughts are with BM, get well!!!
I am glad Mae is feeling better and all is good and Paul you made me laugh with shoes and purse
We keep Benadryl on hand for emergency use. It's not sold in the country where I live, but I brought some from the US the last time I was there. It comes in handy, because you can respond to allergy situations quickly without requiring transportation or other conveniences.
So glad Baby Mae is OK and will recover. Peace
I'm glad your wife is doing good when I was there an 18 I spend in a week in the hospital for pneumonia I don't remember how much I spend for it but it wasn't near what I would have spend in the US
Poor Mae I’m glad she’s doing better
Hi Paul. Glad Baby Mae is okay now after her treatment. I had a similar experience health wise a few months ago. My hole body came out in red rashes and welts. I had pawns for dinner at night before. The doctor put it down to maybe a pawn that had not been cleaned properly. Just a thought. Sea food is the most common fault when this kind of illness happens. All the best.
What an incredible story. Thank you so very much for sharing. Mae has a wonderful man she loves and cares for her. I just love your sense of humor.
Thank you so much!
I hope she's a lot better now
God bless baby Mae I hope she's fine soon 🌹
Wow! Thanks for that account....medical care has been a concern (for when I get back there). I'm less concerned now ! Also, very happy that you were properly coordinated with shoes and pirse ! Lol
Wow, Paul - that is amazing what service you received from a Hospital and the cost out the door - unreal! And what great friends you have…not sure I would of had such a favorable respond in the US. Different culture here as you know. So glad it wasn’t more serious for Baby Mae ❤️
ASSALAMUALIKUM: ALHUMDULLILLAH BROTHER THE SISTER IS INSHAALLAH BLESSED AND IN THE GRACE; MERCY OF ALLAH (HEALTHY). INSHAALLAH SHE HAS A COMPLETE RECOVERY AND MINDFUL OF THAT AREA SHE WAS IN WHERE SHE COULD HAVE GOTTEN THE ILLNESS TO AVOID THE SAME AREA IN THE FUTURE AND ADVISE HER FRIENDS TO ALSO BE CAREFUL.✌🏽
Thank GOD PAUL, gosh you must have been worried. THAT BABYMAY she is one lucky lady to have you Paul. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH
It’s good she has a resourceful guy (haha you) to take care of her when she needs it most. Hope she is back to normal soon…👍
Nice work daddy Paul. Like the tuk tuk and hospital footage. Glad you tuk that. 🙃 Good thing you were there. Glad Mae is OK 👌 Hope she's feeling better. Glad the 🚑 healthcare didn't bankrupt you like it would have here 🇺🇸
Thanks!
Thanks 👌
glad she better now
Wow! I watch your videos and Baby Mae's. It was upsetting to read the title of this video. I'm so glad both of you are okay. 😄
The ending to this video was great. Your new appreciation for accessorizing...lol
Thank God Baby Mae's on the mend and recovering. You have a "new impression and appreciation for women important it is to properly accessorize when going out." Hahahaha! Thanks again, Paul.
Prayers she got treated and did not cost an arm and leg.
In 1985 when I was in VGH (Vancouver General Hospital) the Filipina nurses were the best. Compassionate is the word. Like back in the times when Christian values were present.
I'm glad everything worked out for baby Mae
Glad To hear Mae is fine and you’re lucky to have terrific friends.
