I was so surprised when I heard Pluto on the album. I compulsively listened to this live song years ago back in early high school (maybe 2009) so I was like wtf? I still like this version better (something about this concert is utterly magical - like everything he performs in this particular one is stunning), but Pluto's a really strong song nonetheless
What if Sufjan had followed Illinois with an album that featured this, Barn Owl, Majesty Snowbird, The Lord God BIrd.... It would have been his masterpiece, because in all honesty he has never been so sublime as on the songs that date from just after his most famous release.
