Overview
Sonic the Fighters Blitz is a 2D reimagining of Sonic the Fighters running on Ikemen GO. This was started as a way for me to practice animating on a more consistent basis. One year later, I'm now here, with this current build that includes all 8 original playable characters from the initial arcade release.
Outside of these 8, the bosses from the original game, Metal Sonic and Eggman, as well as plenty of brand new characters who weren't playable in the original Sonic the Fighters are planned to be added over time.

I have high hopes for Sonic's Fighting Game future thanks to this and Sonic Smackdown
And the fact that SEGA actually cares about their fans and try to make them happy.
Unlike SOME companies we know all too well...
Smackdown was just a reskin of marvel 3 with animations from other capcom fighters and smash. It was alright, but it was a clear copy past in a lot of situations

As someone who's played this game a lot as a kid, it was nice seeing how everything changed in this. It looks great and I see a lot of familiar moves.
One minor complaint though... You made most of the fights look too easy! It would've been nice to see more of the other characters' moves! XD
As soon as I saw the options menu, I could tell this is MUGEN.
Still highly impressive, though.

the menu looks a lot like mugen's menu, so this was done in mugen!? this is amazing! this is the best mugen project/game I've ever seen in my life!

So, unfortunately Restless Dipstick, the origonal creator of the game has stopped support for it after version 1.0. Me and some other people from this game's community took it upon ourselves to continue it. It's called Sonic The Fighters Blitz Hyper Edition. Check it out if you want

@BYRON spalti Ikemen is an engine that is made based on Mugen code, with the express intention of being compatible with Mugen on most if not all levels with the main difference being that Ikemen is open source. It’s Mugen.

@@SuperSaiyawolf Super Sonic can't block because transforming removes all your barriers.
@@Hyperneosonic97 I've played the game before, I know that already. 💀 XD When I said blocking, I actually meant using the dodge mechanism.

The key with Super Sonic is to be hyper aggressive, since you're in a permanent hyper mode, meaning no end lag.

I love how this game is so bad it doesn't even have a boss. You could play a KoF mugen with OCs and it would be better. The same level of garbage but at least it would be fun without needing a second player

This feels super experimental, like an Arcsys game, and I kind of dig it.

Down-Down Hyper after losing a round as Sonic. Doesn't work in Arcade Mode.

I used to make my mugens like this, of course, not with my characters and locations, so I can understand that this is a mugen or not a mugen (and yes, if something is not clear, I'm sorry, I'm from Ukraine and I use google translator)
