I will tell you what you are not short of. You are not short of personality, perserverance and patience. Now you can add popularility. 100K is no joke and nobody deserves it more than you both. Many congratulations and keep up the good work!
No slacking over Christmas. You are allowed 4 hours shore leave for R & R then back to this most wonderful journey you share with us. Always uplifting, inspirational and just an all round fantastic production yet again. Passing 100K so deserved, the best u-tube channel.
What a journey. Hopefully you won't freeze to death slowly. Congrats on 100k,I've been here since the early days and have watched the progress in awe of the dedication to sarinda
Hi I'm from Ireland my family spend are life on river Shannon on barge my family went through the same work on 60 foot Barge so it bring back memories of working the barge I have on the barge from 1972 to 1992 I love every minute of it on barge in the summer time keep up with the good work I know it's hard work you will get there in end .Cliff
Congratulations on your 100K views! Love watching you working and the banter/joking with one another. Look forward to watching you guys, you really are hard workers and I love watching. Thanks and have a very merry Christmas to you and your family.
As a military history fan the algorithm suggested your first ever video I subscribed that day and have watched all your videos on both channels and been so impressed with all your hard work. Its been fascinating seeing your skills develop over the last 4 years both as boat builders and Gemma's ever improving fishing skills keep it up i am with you all the way.
Don’t sell your selves short. You’ve become quite the knowledgeable boat builders. And you do it all with such a wonderful sense of humor. Merry Christmas!
CONGRATULATIONS! This goes to prove that you don't have to have a refined production to get subscribers. We like watching down to earth (bilges) people that live like everybody else. Not everybody rebuilds a 72' war boat, but those of us interested in building boats like the content to be real, not produced.
Funnily enough, I'd say that this is a very refined production. I have some knowledge of how much blood, sweat and tears goes into producing videos to a schedule, between planning, shooting, mixing, editing, rendering and uploading. It's not Sailing la Vagabonde in production twinkly bits, but Ship Happens is a very solid, highly refined channel. You don't get 100k subs by sitting on your *ares*.
Congratulations on your accomplishment of achieving such a great milestone. I can't wait to see your silver play button mounted on Sarida. Well done, you two! This is truly a validation of your efforts, and the support of your loyal subscribers. BTW: Love the new boots, Gemma. Don't get 'em muddy!
I've been looking at your old boat thinking the hull shape looked familiar then today you confirmed my thoughts. I found a 'Wineglass' dinghy abandoned in someone's front garden and managed to buy it. That was 58 years ago. No idea where she (Chianti) is now but she scrubbed up nice and gave a lot of fun.
Congratulations on your 100,000 subscribers. It doesn't surprise me as you guys are very entertaining while sorting out your massive ship. Have a good Christmas with your family and enjoy.
"Buy meself a new pair of workboots." About time! You'll be amazed at the amoubnt of useful stuff you can 3D print. I used mine to make repair parts for appliances and stuff for work.
Congratulations on the 100,000, thoroughly deserved, just you keep being you, my highlight on a Saturday morning (Australian time) is to get my fix of Ship Happens, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I always watch your vids. Breath of fresh air and realism in the world brings a smile to me. Love the humor and dedication . Congrats on the subscribers growth . Have a great day guys .
Congrats on the 100,000 subs, a little tip for when breaking in new shoes or boots, to avoid blisters on the heel, wear two pair of thin socks instead of one, the socks rub against each other instead of your heel.
A Chinese caravan diesel heater would help keep you warm. 8kw and 5kw are basically the same. Get the parts as a kit. Dont bother with the integral fuel tank. Run a capillary tube from your diesel tank via an inline paper filter. Exhaust go over the side. I have a long fuel pipe that I prime with a 100ml syringe to suck fuel through.
Ah! So glad I joined the channel, got an extra hour onboard👍 I've found a website for boat and camper blueprints, when I'm ready to build I'll know what wood NOT to use since I'm a deck hand on the Sarinda 👍 Keep up the good work my friends! -Joseph, SC USA
I’ve just found this about HDML 1001. It includes drawings but no details of how they were built. .I’ll have to look deeper another day. It’s on the naval history website.
I'm surprised you don't use a couple of cheap Chinese diesel blow heaters, run them on heating oil, they heat up quickly and are great in large spaces.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! 100.000 viewers, well done and keep on going with your beautiful ship, I will follow your hard work in 2025 as well. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
Well done and huge congratulations to you both. 100K is pretty cool! I subscribed back at the beginning and never regretted it! Cheers you two! And thank you for your efforts.
Happy Christmas and also Congrats on becoming real RUclipsrs. I thought you really were going to get one of those lovely EXCEL BOATS.....They really look good, and even you will not break them, but I have idea the price might. But that nice man would give you a good deal, of that I am sure.. Enjoy your NEW boat...Bless her and all who sail in her. John xx
You say that Harley Davidson shop near us in Southampton used to sell stuff you could put underneath your finger so it looked like you’re actually worked on your motorcycle honestly enjoy your program watch everyone have a good Christmas Michael from Hampshire
Great news on 100k viewers, well done. Channel has plenty of content, variety and your doing a worthwhile job, love it. Have a Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025, thanks for sharing. Stay well.
Have you ever heard of pykrete? It’s a ww2 concoction of ice and saw dust that you could build boats out of. Your snow boat is almost there! If only you could find some sawdust. There are rubber guards for the toes of work boots . You glue them on. They add a little insulation, and a lot of wear protection. They do look at little goofy but makes the boots last longer.
Wow 100K subs. I've followed you since almost the beginning. And yes, there were times I thought you'd lost your minds. And I think there will be times I still do!. But so very well done. Happy Chrimbo boating - Paul
Had to buy a couple of heaters for my workplace. It was freezing in the channel! Congratulations on 100k. Nice when someone thinks about your need and gives you a hull. Pontoon next? Got the last ones I used off the army. Bit of welding and paint and they were good enough to work off.
I’ve got quite a few of them Bessey props they’re absolutely brilliant and the short ones are very good as well i’ve actually held up steel beams with them
Why don't you install zone valves? They would allow you to isolate a section or front/back of the boat without shutting down/ draining the whole system.
I so enjoy watching your progress, it gives me hope I may yet finish my boat next year. I wish you both and your family a wonderful Merry Christmas and a Great New Year for us all. Bob
Congratulations for reaching this milestone and thank you very much for the joy your vlog gives me. It took me a couple of weeks to watch the 206 episodes you made in 4 years but i really enjoyed that. I missed it the last few days. I turned in to a Ship Happens junkie .😱 Keep up the good work. You’re my heroes. And funny🤪
Simon you should really put some boiler conditioner in there to help prevent rust buildup and oxidation, 🤦♂️ maybe I should wait longer and watch more before putting my two bits in! Lmao great job master piper 👏
yes you can get fans that sit on the top of the radiators, they are electric, but are not cheap... best wishes for Christmas and the new year ..MIke. (formally of the Steam tug TID164)
If that heater doesn’t work you should get a small oil radiator heater. They about 2’ tall by 1-1/2’ wide. It will probably make you strip down to shorts. Idk if they would be available there. Im in US
Well done you two and now on to the million which is just a matter of time an another three nothings to add to the six you already have and more fuel in the tanks. Merry Christmas to you both and family.
Congratulations on the 100k subscribers 🎉 With the weather being cold and it makes epoxy resin turn gloopy and takes longer to set it also has the downside of not soaking into the wood like it does in the summer when the resin and the air temps are higher, I'm not sure if you know but if you add a bit of MEK ( Methyl Ethyl Keytone ) it makes the resin thinner and aids it to soak into the timber, specially for treating old timbers.... Plus the mek is great for cleaning tools off, so if you place any metal scrapers etc that you use into the mek it will wash the resin off so that they are clean ready for next time. We just used a plastic tub with a clip on lid, added about 4 or 5 inches deep of MEK, it will last ages as a tool cleaning bucket. The mek is also good for cleaning excess resin from the timbers etc that you just worked on
Those dark brown flexible radiator pipes are probably Acorn. The 1980s forerunner of Hep2o (which is grey). Design life is 50 years. Actual life is MUCH longer.

About Time Too. I’ve pestered my fold to tick the box. Hopefully they helped.
congratulations, I have enjoyed your channel since the beginning. keep up the good work.
I just dig hearing you guys say “meself”. I think it’s time for American southerners to pick that one back up.
Congratulations to a well deserved 100k subs, you guys deserve so much more! Your channel is like a hidden gem! (No pun intended Gemma. 😂😂)
save all your bubble wrap to stuff in the holes! insulates and draughtproofs at the same time!

Congratulations on the 100k, it's an early Christmas gift. Merry Christmas and 200K in the new year.
Congratulations on your accomplishment of achieving such a great milestone. I can't wait to see your silver play button mounted on Sarida. Well done, you two! This is truly a validation of your efforts, and the support of your loyal subscribers.

@Dave5843-d9m interesting, I would guess that even today you might need clearance to see actual blueprints or hull geometry on a military vessel?
Congratulations on 100K subs! We're so happy to be a part of the crowd. Merry Christmas to you and family.
Congratulations Gemma and Simon on your 100,000. Well done, hope you have a great Christmas.
Go on, looks lovely and all comes together Sarinda on the seven seas.........😊

Thank you so much 😀
Well done Excel ,for helping our favourite crew out
I remember subscribing when you were less than 500 and have continued to watch your channel grow, congratulations on your 100K. Well done.
11:15 Si if you put wax paper between the clamp and wood you’ll find it much easier to remove once the epoxy sets up. 🎉🎉
I'm surprised you don't use a couple of cheap Chinese diesel blow heaters, run them on heating oil, they heat up quickly and are great in large spaces.
Definitely do the job and relatively cheap
@@kwacker45they don't create condensation on the machinery in my workshop like the gas flame ones do.
6:40 having a place to put things makes cleaning up so much easier. My house has almost no cabinets or closets so it's demotivating to clean.
Congratulations on the 100k, well deserved 🎉
Thank you so much 😀
Ahh Gemma those boots are still good. Wrap some duct tape around them! They'll be good to spring when there's lots of sales.
Your content reminds me simpler youtube times. Peaceful to watch 😁

Merry Christmas to you both. Looking forward to seeing more great work next year.
i've used small computer fans to force air through a radiator before, it works really well.
Congrats on the 100K subscribers!!
Woo hoo! Congratulations on 100k. I’m a fairly new sub and love your content.
If that heater doesn’t work you should get a small oil radiator heater. They about 2’ tall by 1-1/2’ wide. It will probably make you strip down to shorts. Idk if they would be available there. Im in US
Congratulations🎉❤ I have been with you from the start & it's great that more people are with you both on this journey. Merry Christmas

When using PTFE tape stay at least one thread from the end of the fitting.

Congratulations on getting another 99,999 subscribers!
Well done guys your funny to watch and good at what your doing deserve it
Congratulations and Merry Christmas 🌲
Don’t forget to put a rust inhibitor in the central heating system
Congratulations to you both I look forward to every Friday also merry Christmas to you both and a happy new year
Congratulations on the 100k!
I once flew in my top Field Engineer on a big project because all the readings I was gettng with my "Fluke" showed erroneous. He arrived, measured 15 assemblies, walked over to me, looked at my meter and the fact that I had non-brand batteries. He handed me a pack of name-brand 9-volt batteries and headed back to the airport. We get so tied up in the big picture, that we sometimes forget the bits n pieces
Did your engineer explain the reasoning behind his findings?
@ross82 he didn't want to insult my intelligence, stated he would be hitting my cost center for 1st class return and a few drinks at the pub😳
You get what you pay for!
@glynluff2595 I must remember that, Volts DC isn't only a quantity of potential energy, it seems the more you pay the better it is!
Even my cheapy F1587 has a low battery warning light. I'll read the manual again, it might actually be a cheap battery warning light 🤔
The quality of the battery has absolutely 5 fifths of f**k all squared… what probably happened was that battery was partly discharged, the cheapest batteries are usually zinc carbon. If you go into B&M bargains you can get 8 AAs for£1 but 6 Duracell AA s about £7. True you get what you are paying for and Zinc Carbons will discharge a lot quicker than more expensive batteries. The issue wasn’t because he had shit batteries in his DMM its more likely he got caught with his pants down and his batteries tailed off a lot quicker. Even if he put new shit batteries in the DMM would work but the life of the batteries wouldn’t have been as long.
Wrong factoid Gemma bronze will outlast copper . Bronze Age axes 3000 years old are still found in good condition .happy Xmas
22:12 That reminds me I need a wee... 🤪🤪reaching 100k well its actually 104K at this moment ... and that area by the radiator looks so good now, remember how you felt when you started in there a few weeks ago, you were both feeling the strain, but that looks so good now and it feels like you are gaining momentum. Good work guys and hope you both have a great Christmas
