All I can say, one of your all plastic push knives help me with someone trying to reach in my car for the keys.... last I saw that push knife it was still in the guys arm. 😊
Bryan Pratt It was Cold Steel’s plastic models but no, not intensional. He jerked his arm back and couldn’t pull the push knife out like that, so let it go and reached for my belt knife (always carry one or two). I should mention the push knife was scotched taped to my steering column when all this started, for emergencies. I replaced it right away. 😊
@@PreparedWolf34 good call Sir. He would bleed to death if the knife was pulled out. If you kill a thief - you're held responsible like you'd kill a man
Best backup to my backup you can get. I think for me last ditch is doing the most damage. That way if you ain't walking away they definitely aren't. Until you've lived through a violent encounter for know reason ( home invasion, carjacking, armed robbery) you don't think hard about self-defense. Afterwards you only think about what ifs. The only thing I'm sure of if I would have had my knife on me my violent encounter would have went differently. I hope no-one has to hear their loved one calling for them an not being able to get to them. Anyway I'm way off point something that requires no skill to use an can do large amounts of damage is what you want. Second its hard to disarm a push dagger. That is even the people that train for years. All in all a push dagger is a formidable weapon in anyone's hand. Just my 2 cents, I love me some coldsteel. Train, hard train safe train for a lifetime
Practically speaking, this is probably one of the best defensive weapons against animal attacks as well. When people are attacked by humans or animals their first instinct is to push away or to extend their arms. Even trained MMA fighters do this as a default defense. but when you have these knives every time you push away or extend your arms you have a deadly weapon at the end of them. It doesn't require any technique or balance. You just have to use your arms naturally.
I just purchased a Mini-Tuff Lite and it's great! It's truly amazing that such a small knife has great ergonomics. I will be purchasing a regular Tuff-Lite now. If I can make three suggestions, deploying the knife is a little difficult, which I think could be remedied by cutting out a small part of the grivory to get your thumb in there, second, please make it tip up carry and third, make a larger version. Wharncliffe designs are highly underrated. Michael Janich's work with them is pretty self explanatory. Keep up the great stuff!
I've had one of these for at least 15 years, both sizes and their Desperado BIG cousin. I wouldn't trade them for anything. Easily invisible and long enough to kill any size human and most animals with proper placement. Beautiful products and no other company has anything compatible for the price. No one beats Cold Steel. I'm a Lifer....
I have a CS Urban Skinner from around 1990 that is an awesome knife. This Safe Maker 1 is a step above, longer, thinner in profile, would be an awesome self defense knife. If you haven’t handled one you would be surprised how practical the T handle knives are to use. I could skin and dress game with my Urban Skinner, cut food, fruit and vegetables, and use for many tasks you would use other knives for. And no one is going to take this out of your hand as long as you have body strength!
I just got mine last week, and so far I'm very impressed with the knife, but I'm having some trouble with the sheath. It has the strongest retention of any sheath I've ever dealt with, which is great in that the knife doesn't shake or rattle at all. However, it doesn't allow a one-handed draw when clipped to my belt. If I don't hold the sheath with one hand while drawing, the whole clip pops off my belt every time, coming with the knife. I'm considering using a super glue to permanently close the belt clip. That would require feeding the belt through the clip and wouldn't allow other kinds of clip carry anymore, but at least I could draw it swiftly. Other than buying a custom sheath, has anyone else encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
Been selling Cold Steel Knives for 10/yrs now. Believe it or not, this knife is my #1 Seller to => => => Law Enforcement. Yup! They clip it behind a mag pouch up front and depend on it for CQC in the event someone gets hold of them and also to prevent them from taking their firearm. I carry one personally as my EDC duo, along with my Spartan. People ask me 'why' I carry the two knives. I tell them one is for self-defense and the other, "for any damn thing that needs to be cut or chopped".
I bought one of these and love the design of the knife but the sheath has fiberglass in the Kydex. The knife came pretty sharp and I put a razor edge on it in a few minutes. But when I put the blade in the sheath and withdrew it a few times the fiberglass dulled the upper third of the blade. I’m going to have to put a bead of epoxy on both sides of the sheath so the edge doesn’t contact the sheath when it is withdrawn. I have had to do this to other sheaths reinforced with glass fiber, but at least this is fixable. The sheathed knife will actually fit into the front pockets of my jeans which is a plus for me.
i have always been a little intimidated by this style of knife, and i carry a counter point xl. you guys shoved these knifes into all kinds of things with ease. i am probably wrong but i can see my self breaking it somehow and cutting myself on them, but lynn made a few points i didnt think about which has me reconsidering things on this design.

I got one for christmas and I love it. Only thing I'm displeased with is how the clip on the sheath keeps coming off when I remove the knife from the sheath. Other than that this is a wonderful knife to own.
All the NYC passengers should be carrying this push knife to defend themselves from attackers while they are waiting for their subway train to arrive; or whenever they are walking around the streets in NYC!
I've always wondered what the purpose of these was. Now, being a big believer in g.t.f.o.m knives, I see that this style may be the ultimate form. As he said, it would be difficult to knock this kind of knife out of your hand. And that matters if your on the ground after having been sucker punched & the punks are going through your pockets while still hitting you. Maybe better than Spyderco's civilian.
