Nice informative video. I've been hearing so much about Albania and I think you've sold me on it, certainly Saranda. I'm thinking about going there in late September and really looking forward to it. Appreciate your tips and suggestions! The one about flying into Corfu and taking the ferry over is something I wouldn't have thought of. Safe travels!
How exciting!! And the world is a surprisingly small place, so you never know where we might meet! We just ran into some famous RUclipsrs ourselves, Amelia and JP, here in Montenegro just out on the street. They were super nice. We know them for their Ecuador content so I wouldn’t have expected to see them here, but you just never know who you’ll come across.
I love it when gay couples visit and live in Albania. So other gay people can see that it is safe here, I read a lot that LGBT people are scared to travel here, from a gay Albanian.
Thank you for the message! We spent two months in Albania and did not experience any safety issues at all. We didn't come to make political statements, but as far as just living your life, we certainly felt very comfortable and wouldn't hesitate to come back. I hope you are doing well!
@@tendegreeswarmer exactly I traveled with my foreign boyfriend, king bed room in Saranda in the summer. I didn’t feel any disrespect from the staff of the hotel. It was clear we were boyfriends.
@@User12345fan That's great to hear! As foreigners I think we tend to get a lot of leeway, and people don't really pay much attention. But that's great that you, who would probably notice if there was underlying disrespect, didn't feel any. 👍
@@tendegreeswarmer yes if that happened 10 years ago, it would’ve been a huge problem. Things are changing especially in the more touristy areas, now people have seen diversity and they will start to accept it.
I haven't thought about it, but is anyone a fan? I've never seen the appeal either except maybe as a space issue. 😆 In any case, most of the places we looked at had shower curtains. No idea why this one didn't, but the other advantages of the apartment made it worth it and it is still the one we chose.
Good question, that I'm not really able to answer. We didn't have any issues in our month there, but we weren't really in any situations where it would have been an issue. Any of the expats we hung out with didn't care (we met other gay travelers as well.) Our Airbnb didn't ask any questions or interact with us at all. Just a non-issue for a 30 day stay.

Glad to hear it, so did we! 😀

Let us know what you think! And do your best to get a place with a view, it made all the difference for us lol.
September and May/early June are the best months to go.
Wow! Great memories. Roxie! The storm! Butrint! The great hike UPHILL to our place!
It was a great place to spend a month in winter. And the short but steep hike up to our place was totally worth it for that view! 😆
Beautiful - thanks for sharing this. I’ve always wondered about Albania in the off season.
Glad you enjoyed the video - we sure enjoyed being there! 😀
Thanks for promoting my country.. love from an albanian of fier thats live in Italy.. love!
Thank you, we had a wonderful time! Saranda in February is delightful. 😀
Saranda is very nice for the winter. I plan on returning in January.
We're on the same page! 😀
Love you guys! Wheels up in 140 days for my future travels. I hope I'll run into you on the road.

Great to know, Albania is high in our plans for next winter. How common are the wet bathrooms? We're not fans.

@tendegreeswarmer well, it's more like Avic despises them! 😆
Also, it was great to see you hiking with our friend that we met in Brasov.

How is Saranda treating gay couples?
