There are so many other other lower priced outfit that fit in any budget. Lydia just shows you how we can wear a white skirt ect. I personally love pleated skirts, white or otherwise. You can buy those for 35 bucks at winners or spend a couple of thousand. High end fashions are quickly copied to bring them to the masses. I know people that spend huge money on their clothes and they still look cheap. ???

Expensive brands have amazing sales and you could save and buy two beautiful classic pre-loved pieces a year that will last a decade or more b/c of the quality. It gets easier the older you get as you slowly collect more and more. It's not about price but a state of mind. Plastic fast fashion is expensive in the long run. And ladies please do remove the word NEVER from your vocabulary. You're only manifesting a poverty mindset. Money comes and goes, and when it comes it happens fast and you best be ready with your wishlist in tow. A cultivated eye for good design is a skill and if you are exposed to high-end pieces then when you see a high-quality yet lower-cost unknown brand piece you can add it to your collection. Over time it adds up.

The idea to style up different versions of your classic outfits in a variety of price points is a fantastic one. I think a lot of people (myself included) want to buy higher quality pieces where possible and it might be a good idea to show say a more affordable outfit with one higher-end piece etc. I would personally love to see you do a high-end capsule wardrobe video, if people are trying to save up for particular pieces etc.

Please do a video on your style evolution! I know for myself, I consider my style that of a “southern modern woman.” I love my grays, blacks, whites, with hints of green as my accent color. My looks are very classic and timeless. I love my botanical and wildflower prints as well. I don’t wear jeans anymore, only dress pants. My go-to bag is a dark grey Céline belt bag (have had it for 3 years now). Pearls are my favorite accessory. There is just something so elevating and elegant when you find your own style without the trends of the moment.

You have turned me on to so many brands I knew nothing about. Sustainable fashion, clean beauty, honestly never occurred to me until I discovered your channel. I love the variety of topics on your channel. I find it all very informative and relatable. Yes, some items are aspirational, but most are great investments and timeless classics. You have become part of my weekly routine and I do check your channel for things before I purchase. Your info is valuable and useful to me.

I believe that those of us that have watched your style and content evolve over the years appreciate that you share it. First because we are all aging and changing along with you as we are meant to do. Secondly despite a couple wobbles of self confidence (perfectly normal) over the past few years, your journey feels organic and authentic to you.
I would love to see videos like you suggested because many of us cannot afford some of the brands you wear. With your knowledge and guidance you can teach us your method and how to apply it in ways that suit us individually regardless of the price point. That is valuable knowledge we can all benefit from. Thank you for another lovely video.

Lydia you have done well in not following fashion trends. I feel you have really banished trend buys from your purchases just as you have been saying for a very long time is your aim. If you wish to buy an item deemed trendy at anytime then go for it - your money so spend it as you wish. You explain this process very well by the way.

I just loved this video. My mother in the 1950’s didn’t have much money but always looked lovely. She wore shirt dresses, pearls and basic pumps. She had several kinds of shoe clips to dress up the shoes for special occasions. She would buy lipstick and scarves to change up her look just like you suggested. So relying on basic staple wardrobe pieces is an economical way to approach fashion. Well done you as always. 💕💕💕

Oh BTW, your fashion evolution has helped me a lot. I can't afford the same brands as you, but what you did help me with was sitting down and really thinking about who I am. I love fashion. I buy or USED to buy a lot of clothes. I went through my closet recently and found stuff with tags still on them. Never worn, forgotten about, and not very practical. They were impulse purchases. But as I sat down and thought about my own style, I realized, I am just someone who is super casual. I don't wear dresses, but I have a lot of dresses! So now when I go shopping, I think about your ideas. Like I said, I can't afford the same brands, but I put a lot more thought in to what I am buying. I ask myself if this is just an impulse? A trend piece? Is it even MY STYLE, TRULY? Then I look at "is it classic?" Timeless? If it is, and I love it, I'll buy it. You've actually helped me a lot, although our styles are completely different (that is not to say that I wouldn't LOVE dressing like you everyday because you look amazing even in the garden....the dream!) but even in our differences, you've made me question my real NEED for certain things that I will probably never wear, versus pieces that ARE my style, not trendy, and will last a least a while if I take good care of them. So thank you for that! We all evolve over time. It's a good thing.

I purchased two beautiful pure linen shirt dresses from Tesco’s own brand of all places and they really are a good quality and fabric for summer. It is possible! The reason I watch you is that you don't follow trends and not only introduce us to the larger luxury brands, introduce us to smaller luxury brands that offer such beautiful products and items, but we may not hear about otherwise, not to mention providing us with alternatives for similar looks at lesser cost, for those that don't have the means to shop high end but want a higher end and quality look. These are the things that started me watching, but what keeps me coming back is that you share all of your interests, insights and experiences in many other areas of life and to my mind, that is just as important to becoming a well rounded individual as fashion and products are to being well rounded in our wardrobe. Both play their own parts in creating a beautiful and joyous life.

    You are AMAZING! 😍
You are so right on the quality of the fabrics and about fast fashion!
I have always known what kind style I wanted for myself but I have always struggled with finding the right brands. So I would buy just something on the cheaper side and I would get bored of it after a month or so. Either the fabric is super bad or the fit is not as good anymore. Good quality brands are important . And yes they are a bit more expensive, however they are there to last. And that is my goal. Thank you for revealing those brands! Keep making those videos ☺️
Maybe one day you can make a video of how you take care of your clothes. Like cleaning if there is a stain on it or mud, or just in general how you keep them from damaging.

You are 💯 percent correct about what we choose to wear. All my friends wear things that are super trendy. I on the other hand wear classic pieces. However I love a bit a pink and gray and blue in my hair. So classic but with my on twist. The handbags and shoes and pieces I choose I’ll wear them for years to come. So thank you for saying this. It’s super important to buy beautiful pieces even if they are pre loved. I love that you say it. My friends buy things at cheaper stores and they wear it once or twice and then it’s trash but I’ll wear my beautiful dresses or classic jeans and boots I’ve had for years like 20 years I’m still able to wear them. So I get it 💯percent.

I think it’s important for everyone to also realize that timeless isn’t one style. For you timeless is smart shirt dresses etc but for me timeless is a t-shirt jeans and sneakers. And that’s completely fine! As long as whoever is buying the garment knows they will love to wear it for years to come. But I also somewhat disagree with colors as trends to stay away from. For instance I would say sage is a very trendy color right now but that doesn’t mean you won’t love it for years therefore to you it is timeless and you should look for sage pieces. The same could be said for barbie pink. People have always worn pink it just doesn’t mean you have to have a whole wardrobe of it. Even most of the looks Margot Robbie is wearing for the press tour are actually vintage pieces. There was a study done on bold choices in home renovations and they actually found that people who chose bold things that they really loved at the time were actually happier with their choice’s several years later than the people who had played it safe instead of picking the bold paint colors or what have you that were their original instincts. I’m not saying to buy trends. I guess I’m saying maybe wether something is timeless or not actually has more to do with how much joy it brings you. As in timeless doesn’t equal plain, safe or even classic.

They don’t always have to be timeless but hopefully with age comes some wisdom and discretion. It’s fun and at the end of the day it’s just fashion. This is your love and job so keep it up, you do a great job 👏🥰

I love your styling , I have never considered dresses as part of my wardrobe as I thought it was granny attire , but since I have been watching you I have been convinced to look at buying a couple of shirt dresses as this style is so versatile as you show on your channel you have an abundance of tips of ways to style with different accessories ❤️👌x

I see comments about not being able to afford these things...which i initially thought too. But, then i realized, i tend to spend that much buying lots of cheaper priced, lower quality items. Maybe just starting slowly...and, adding one piece at a time...then, overtime...you have a wardrobe of high-quality, beautiful and timeless pieces that you love. ❤ I may have to mull that over a while for myself. 😊

THIS…. I have lived my life to these ideas as that is how my mother and grandmother views style and fashion. WE get to decide what is “in” or “out”. From early childhood I was always scouting for cool vintage pieces that I would never see anyone else wear, and I would just buy stand-alone pieces that I could use in my arsenal, instead of purchasing an already made outfit that someone else put together in a store front. I HATED trends and would literally run in the opposite direction of them, because I hated how so many girls in my school all dressed exactly the same. Because they were timeless, I was able to keep some of those pieces for decades and bring them out for the right outfits until they didn’t fit anymore. That also really helped me to learn how to dress for my body instead of trying to fit my body in styles that didn’t suit it, just because everyone else did. It was a learning curve and some of my styles were absolutely wild and didn’t land hahaha looking back on some I question what was I thinking but that’s how you learn!
So I loved hearing your views on this, and would LOVE to see a video on the evolution of your style!! Would be amazing!
Also how are brands able to get in touch to work together? My BFF and I are about to launch our brand and would love to work with you!🤎

Hi Lydia, You mentioned you can have sensitivity with some earrings. I have that problem with non-silver/gold/steel earrings. Want to share that I just tried this paint on product that coats the metal so that I can now wear them. From USA: E'arrs L'Protect Clear Protective Shield for Jewelry. Hope this helps. Love that you share authentic British fashion brands too.

Cost a good amount of money but more affordable the Hermes or Chanel. At least 2 of those examples are British companies also (not sure what Strathberry is)

To be honest the amount you purchase it’s still so wasteful. You can’t wear all of the clothes or get coat per wear. It isn’t sustainable. It’s all just stuff at the end of the day. It’s greed.

The irony in the title & her actions is by far the most ignorant thing she has done so far. I truely believe she lives in her own bubble. I watch these videos as an escape not to live that lifestyle. The ones who can afford it they dont come onto youtube & get advice from an 'influencer' on how they should live their life.
