Great video as always! I've put The Ruins on my "to Read List", ..... along with others. Did they make a movie of The Ruins? --- Poor Things is now one of my favorite movies, so strange & unique with incredible performances. ---- I wanted to discuss Longlegs for sure,...I have NOT seen this yet,.but I REALLY want to! I'm a huge fan of the Director, "Oz" Perkins, who is the son of iconic Anthony Perkins. Check out the movie of his, "I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House", which is a very slow burn movie, but so unique, it's told from the perspective of the ghost who haunts the house. It's now one of my favorite horror movies. He also did "The Blackcoat's Daughter" which was very good too. Love your content, keep it up!
Longlegs freaked me out so much! While I don't think it was the greatest film and it had its issues, it made me so stressed and had my heart racing in so many scenes. The intro made me want to just leave the cinema haha. I'm also the same with Stardew Valley - it just hooks me so much that I can't do anything else, so I've also been taking a break! I have it on Switch and Steam :)
So many awesome books on this list! I didn't realize you went for music!? I also studied music so it always gets me excited when I realize others that have had that experience.
What took me out of Yellowjackets is a common sin amongst these modern movies/shows set in previous decades is that these teenagers from the 90s sound and act NOTHING like teenagers from the 90s
Recently - I read a sample of The Ruins on Google, & I was really able to absorb the writer's style. It has an old school narrative drive, like a brought-up-to-date version of of Sheridan Le Fanu. Scott Smith has a very visual style, & it's definitely a book that I'll get to before too long. That sample service that Google offers readers is very helpful. I'm currently half way through Octavia E. Butler's loosely connected, bleak-but-compelling Patternmaster series, -: Pattermaster, Mind of my Mind, Wild Seed, Clay's Ark. They're billed as SF, but they're dark enough to be read by horror fans IMO. I've finished Clay's Ark, & Mind of my Mind, which were good.
The Ruins is great!! BTW if you haven't already read it "Legion" by William Peter Blatty is getting a re-release early next year... it is a brilliant book and might be even better than The Exorcist imo.
Talking about video games, I have a blast this summer playing most of the resident evil & devil may cry games, quite frankly they put me in a reading slump (not complaining though because I had a good time) so I haven't been able to read much recently. I've the same thought about PTSD radio, the beginning was so strong but by the last volume it got a bit repetitive and I lost my interest in it. Idk if you have read anything by Sachiko uguisu, her art style can seem childlike but her stories are very fascinating, she is my favorite horror mangaka besides junji ito.
I bought them online, if you search "HORI Split Pad Pro (Pikachu & Eevee) for Nintendo Switch" they should come up. I really recommend any of the Hori controllers, they are much more comfortable than the standard joycons.
Sorry to hear that you're not enjoying it! I always have to wait a good while before reading a book after watching the film adaptation so that I don't get them jumbled in my head 😂
You read and watched a lot of great stuff! I think I want to re read Lapvona again this fall. 🐑
The Ruins is awesome!

do you perhaps have a spotify list we could follow? i feel like your taste in music would be amazing 🖤
I don't have spotify anymore, only the youtube premium music. But thank you! My music taste is pretty tasty 😂

Yeah most people assume I studied literature just because I read, but no, I'm a music lover through and through!!

That's fair! I wouldn't remember much from the 90s 😂
I loooove this kind of video, hope you do more like this! :)
I will, I'll try to get more in the habit of chatting about things other than books!! 😁
@@RGsDevilship for the record, the book content is fantastic and never gets old but I love these kind of round-up videos too!

Thank you for letting me know! I've only read The Exorcist and have felt weirdly guilty because I know he was such an excellent author.
@@RGsDevilship Nothing to feel guilty over imo, we can't read everything unfortunately :)...

Hello there hey there hey
Definitely excited to check out the books and switch games! I love your controllers, where did you get them from? 😊
I bought them online, if you search "HORI Split Pad Pro (Pikachu & Eevee) for Nintendo Switch" they should come up. I really recommend any of the Hori controllers, they are much more comfortable than the standard joycons.
i just started lapvona 🖤
Hope you enjoy it!!
Honestly, I didn't like the film of Poor Things because it skews the book! The book is amazing! You'd love it!
I'm going to read it, I just need to put more space between myself and the film so that it doesn't mess with my reading experience 😂
PTSD radio is a blast. Not a Ito fan. I may suggest Hideshi Hino!
I've been waiting so long for Hideshi Hino's work to be reprinted in English, I really want to read his manga so bad!!
@RGsDevilship fortunately in Italian we have almost all translated.
Loved Poor Things movie; now trying to read the book but it's starting off boring. I don't understand.

@@RGsDevilship It just may be too early in the book. Hope it will perk up soon.
