if you have 60hz monitor and can reach more than 60 fps the game will still feel "laggy" but if you have for example 144hz and you can have more than 144fps, then thats the point when you can tell its super smooth

I usually play on 300 FPS but when I saw how well 24, 30, 60 and 120 FPS works I thought that these numbers weren't bad at all. Usually for me in 24 to 60 FPS it lags so much since I play bedwars and bedwars needs at least more than 50 to 100 FPS.
300 Fps is useless, you should cap your max fps to what your monitor can handle. For example I get go up to 200 fps but my monitor is 144Hz so i cap my fps to 144.

How about 0.5fps, 0.25fps or 0.1fps? That's commonly the speed some computers run at.
0.1 FPS is more like 1 frame every ten seconds, 0.25 is like one every 4 seconds and 0.5 is like one every 2 seconds

I have i5-2500 and Intel HD 2000. I get around 50 to 60 FPS in Java Edition 1.18 Optifine with very mixed settings. I ended up locking it to 45 avoid drops.
Edit:
Changed a few settings. 5 chunks around low settings with 900p (1600x900) and rock stable 60FPS.
You need to adjust your settings bcz i have i3 and i get 50-60 fps stable and with good settings

I have an Intel HD Graphics 3000, who runs Minecraft at 65 FPS constantly and rarely dips lower that this.
(Note: I use OptiFine.)

That's not how the gameplay actually looks, because it's a 200+ FPS gameplay rendered at lower framerates, so the video looks are on point, but in the playable side of FPS it's a different story

sometimes my laptop specs are not very good, when playing Minecraft survival the fps usually reaches 10-20 maximum +30 FPS (flat mode and using settings makes the FPS fast) Be grateful that you have good specs and good FPS😌😌
I see all these RUclipsrs talking about how you can get Minecraft up from 70 fps to 120 or 50 fps to 70, and I'm sitting here trying to get mine from 15 to 25... 15 was playable, even, once I tried to play at like 5 when I had a really heavy shader on and that wasn't too fun. I couldn't actually enjoy the shaders.

What version do you play to get 1400 fps on casual low settings on GTX 1050/1070?!? I get 900-1300 on a Rtx 3070 (using the i9 10850k and 32gb) on 1920x1080 or 2560x1440 (both don't make a huge fps difference for me, at least in Minecraft)
Remember that youtube cant show true 120fps and you need a 120hz+ monitor to see actual difference in game

With this video I just noticed something that I did not know I was playing in minecraft java but I decided to test how it was the version of windwos 10 and if it was going to 60fps and in both versions it had a maximum fps rate of 60 which confirms that minecraft bedrock is better optimized than java
everyone knows that bedrock runs better than java since it is made for phones aswell
What annoys me the most is that when 1 fps is written on the screen in the upper left corner, 150 fps is written.
I've optimized the game so much on my 5 yr old low tier laptop to play on the newest version, 8 render distance, no fog, at 150 fps average (It's totally unnecesary to go above 60 on laptop since most of them are 60Hz anyway)

anything above 60fps is noticable, in fact i think 60fps looks disgusting when playing the game.. maybe not on a 60hz monitor.. but me on a 240hz monitor thinks that 60fps is smooth but not too smooth, it's fine for videos but a regular 60 when playing the game is bad for me.
If you can't tell the difference in game then you probably have a 60hz monitor.. current monitors go up to 390hz meaning you can see 390fps although that is not at all necessary because you can only really notice up to 240fps.
if you consider getting a higher refresh rate monitor you should only go for something like 120, 144, or 240, numbers above that are not needed.

anything above 24 will look about the same its just after that point you really have to feel the difference. after 24 fps what matters is the monitor and how it feels. i mean ive gotten 100+ fps on a 60hz screen and i tell you it feels like absolute trash. limiting the fps to either 60 or even 30 makes it feel so much smoother on a 60hz screen.
