  • Had some time to dig through some old video footage, I purchased this "Warhorse" for parts for mine, so we'll cover some of what makes a "Warhorse".
During WWII rations were applied to manufacturing, part of this included price freezes, to curb this, Ford created the 2N (Year of introduction, 1942, N tractor), however, while the 2N was essentially just a 9N, it also was built when rubber and electrical parts were being limited to civilian production to help the war effort. To curtail this the 2N "Warhorse" was born, with steel wheels, and Magneto.
Built from 1942-1943 with serial numbers from 9N99003 to 9N105374
Some unique features include the steel wheels, starter block off plate, start button plug, dual throw choke, long front axle pin, spring loaded hand crank, magneto, ammeter block off plug (knock out plug), idler in place of generator, no keys.
We'll cover this all further when we begin the restoration of our Warhorse.
