How would you compare Blocksy for WooCommerce vs Flatsone and I'll throw in Elegant Themes? Difficulty level/Learning Curve? Features/Options? Bugs? Can you add a link into your product pages? For instance, let's say you're selling sparring gear and they come in different sizes. Instead of cluttering your "description" section with a lengthy size chart, you create a separate page with a link somewhere so that [first time] customer's can make sure they are purchasing the correct size.
flatsome has more layouts and maybe a few more options because you can build each page from scratch, but blocksy isnt a page builder so you can do the same with blocksy+elementor. I wouldnt link the description because this is really bad for SEO.

Haha, after following along through the first 55 minutes of the tutorial I found that I couldn't edit the main image on the home page. Such a simple thing to do, but I couldn't. Backed up page, reinstalled the starter template, but that didn't work. The edit tab for the main image was above the header and disappeared when I tried to select it. Finally, I reset the basic settings and was able to access the edit tab again and it's appearing below the header now. Wth. Now I want to go through the tutorial again to see what exactly the problem was. I'm a wp noob and am looking forward to the day when things work like they are supposed to and do in the video.

@@Fionaaa40 It can be done through elementor. Go to elementor -- right click on the image and then click on navigator -- select the first section -- then edit section will appear -- go to style over there -- and change the image..

Well it just depends on the builder you choose. Blocksy can work with all builders, it had some pretty good gtmetrix scores. I’m really looking forward to their future development. I love Divi but the theme is sort of neglected and they mainly focus on the builder
@@darrelwilson it certainly seems as though you could easily get away without even using a builder for many sites. The theme has sufficient customisation and you can do a lot with guttenberg now.
@@RussMichaels i still dont like gutenberg at its current state, but who knows mayhe they will improve the drag and drop interface for this next coming year

Unfortunately getting a really fast site with decent scores, especially with the new Google lighthouse algorithm, does seem to negates the user of page builders unless client is prepared to pay extra for the likes of nitro pack and better hosting.

My site is a bit messed up and it seems that more videos I watch and the more "improvements" I make either makes it worse or does nothing. And my frustration with getting everything to work on the site, changes I've made (watching videos, installing plugins ...) is only making it worse and more frustrating. I have 2 questions. 1- For some reason i don't have the locked icon next to the adress bar (https) after installed the theme. 2- At 5:37 when you go on edit page i don't have the option for changing the page structure. Darrel how do i get rid of the black border column on the top nav bar? I have a notification bar on the very top then i have this ugly black border below it i want removed(but in my notification bar there is no border,so i think this is something with the style or css of Gardenrobe Blocksy child theme. Can you add WooCommerce to any Blocksy starter sites eg Travel which you’re using in the first half of this tutorial?
What are you thoughts on opening up a 'storefront' like WooCommerce on your blog? Does this hurt or help rankings and traffic?

Hi Darrel, thanks for this tutorial. Just discover your channel and doing my first wordpress. I have 2 questions.
1- For some reason i don't have the locked icon next to the adress bar (https) after installed the theme.
2- At 5:37 when you go on edit page i don't have the option for changing the page structure. I don't see as well Blocksy child parent setting.

Darrel how do i get rid of the black border column on the top nav bar? I have a notification bar on the very top then i have this ugly black border below it i want removed(but in my notification bar there is no border,so i think this is something with the style or css of Gardenrobe Blocksy child theme. Let me know any suggestions thanks.

Essentials is very good, a bit bloated by all the features it brings but it's a good theme. The blocksy theme is very light but lacks demos with Elementor-
Does this theme automatically adjusts the size of the images to make them all the same size as Flatsome theme?
