"...Because I'm not an influencer. I'm a coach." YES YOU ARE A COACH, and this clarity and honesty and common freaking sense is part of why you're so damn great, and why we watch these videos.

My biggest pet peeve is the spot-reduce clickbait. Even influencers who will, in some videos, say you cannot spot reduce fat will upload a workout video that claims to reduce belly fat or arm fat or something and I just don't get it. Why confuse people like that?

The thing with these clickbait titles and influencers promoting videos like get abs in two weeks etc is that they are so enticing to human’s mind. It’s like you know it’s not true but you keep seeing it over and over again in most videos and think to yourself well what’s the harm in trying. So yes this needs to be called out again and again. Thank you for doing this and calling this out time and again. 👏👏👏

Totally agree on all of your points! I also feel like the body checking is taking on a newer angle on Instagram reel or posts/TikTok workouts, etc., too that always seems to revolve around women influencer ab workouts. There is always the first initial shot where it’s a few seconds of lifting up the shirt/pressing up the boobs and pulling down the shorts of leggings slightly to show off the abs before starting the circuit. It’s become their version of the clickbait thumbnail in that space and it’s just awful. Like you said, it’s nearly always tied specifically to selling a product, routine, etc. rather than being just an informative video or one of accomplishment or progress.

I'm so sick of all this massive clickbait from fitness influencers. Clickbait, false expectations and irrealistic body goals are among the reasons that, 2 years ago when I started my fitness journey, led me to overexercise. It affected both my physical and mental health. I felt really bad when, after doing for 14 days an exercise, I didn't get my flat abs and small waist. Before seeing those videos I didn't even know what a thigh gap was! Then I convinced myself that I had one and became a problem. They are so irresponsible, they don't know the damage they cause just to attract new followers. Luckily now I stay away from all of those people and I unsubscribed from most of those I used to follow. Most of their subscribers are very young women, practically children, who sadly fall in their traps of false promises. When I read their comments I am really concerned about them because they really believe that they will obtain those abs in 14 days. I think that RUclips should not allow anymore this sick clickbait and I hope that, someday, the situation will change.
Recently I saw a model (Mary Braun) on RUclips proposing a Victoria Secret body challenge and it really worried me

Side note: I DID just run a marathon and the nice thing about that was my relationship with food got a hard reset because I couldn't focus on eating "correctly," I had to make sure I was paying attention to my body so I could refuel after awful runs (I am no longer working on distance running now that I finished lol)

Also it’s encouraging / motivating when coaches share real grind as I try to reach goals. But I think it depends on how healthy your relationship is to food and exercise. It shows in the hateful and very immature comments you received on the very professional video you did about her. It’s a hard age to be and you tend to have blind allegiance towards the celebs etc that you like at that age! I remember way back when fitnessblender came out with their 1000 calorie workout and specifically mentioned it burns anywhere between 500-1000 calories and it depends on your body.
And then people went ahead and made clickbait videos.

The arm fat before and after picture…pretty sure she was just flexing in the after picture lol. But also, I don’t know how lean I would have to get to have no fat on my upper arms, but I’m pretty sure I’d feel like I was dying of starvation to get there. No thanks.

I have no idea what hip dips are either! The first time I heard about them was several several years ago when Kim K was being shamed for them. There was a photo where she was sitting on a boat, and it was literally the crease made where the top of her leg met her hips….. that’s just bone structure! “Fix this” is just BS marketing. In my opinion. Off my little rant box 😂

    Honest feedback:
Some of the spontanous repartee from people who are burdened with the responsibility to create awareness seems unnecessary and also a bit on the meaner/snarky side. Some people may agree with you but the way you mention it does not rub on them the right way-even if it is scietific. A good example of a person who does it very gracefully is Team ForNeverLean. A bad clickbait turn off is Blogilates. But you have to give it to her the powder puff videos have great glam quotient ( and get her required audience)
On the other hand, clickbait videos of people who have a good way of communicating with people and have a lot of positivity ( like Heather Robertson) or even the new girl GrowwithJo, attract people because people like listening to them. And the viewership grows even if the workout they dole out is "nonfunctional".
Clickbaits of brilliant guys (Natacha ) are good bcos their content is honestly so good !!
In the end, you are not wrong, cos the intentions are correct. The rest of your journey you will chart as per your choice.

@@JustinaErcole Lol I wouldnt think of having one no matter how qualified who does not know how to communicate.
Kind of explains the reason why you have so less followers ( as stated by you)
As also videos where you see and correct yourself for your "snarkiness". The video or your personality did not rub me the wrong way but your answer definitely did amuse me.
And says a lot about your actual disposition to constructive opinion/criticism ( since you asked for it). Since your videos mostly are about opinions on others.

@@sucharitaray5488 I apologize if you feel that my response is being mean or defensive. I was trying to clarify that my personality is the issue, because I couldn't quite understand from your comment. I won't change my personality just to get more followers. The one clickbait I saw the other day was from DN Beauty on RUclips on what to do or what exercises to do to make yourself taller, it is crazy!!! you can't make yourself taller maybe a teeny tiny bit with improving your posture maybe but in the thumbnail there was a short girl and a tall girl next to each other and they were like say for example 5.4 and 5.8, so much difference in high. I was like there is no way in hell someone will believe that. I haven't watched it though, I should actually just to see what nonsense she's spewing. I only follow DN Beauty for the facial massages, which I found help with my skin, I don't watch any of the other content on there relating to diet or fitness coz it is literally rubbish but yeah there is a lot of misleading clickbait there.
